A Beautiful Replica, but Beware of Orcs
I am not an enormous fan of the Hobbit films, but man, they feature some beautiful weapons; and this was one of them. This is a faithful (give or take, considering the compromises necessary when crafting a prop out of foam) replica of the sword belonging to the Elven King Thranduil (spelling?). Its design is simple, the blade and hilt have an understated elegance of line, the pommel melds directly into the two-handed hilt. By contrast, the engraved vine pattern is intricate; the contrast with the basic simplistic form of the blade and hilt is visually very satisfying.Although a two-handed design, the sword is more than light and well-balanced enough to use with either one or two hands if you have the urge to practice your goblin-slaying skills; the intent is apparently an Elven katana sort of sword, and it fulfills that role well.Although a licensed LOTR/Hobbit design, this fits into any type of fantasy milieu; I have it displayed alongside my "Conan the Barbarian" Atlantean sword, and the two are a fine duo. If your intent is for use as a cosplay prop, this sword will work with anything from Mongol warrior to Flash Gordon. It gets dinged 1 point for sturdiness, due to the issue many others have noted with the bendy tip; one can feel a sturdy core running up the blade *almost* to the point where it curves, and designing a core that curved along with the blade the final two inches would have negated this issue completely. Whether for safety reasons ("You'll put someone's eye out with that!") or otherwise, the core stops short, leaving only foam; foam that is thick enough to hold its shape, but that, alas, can bend at the point where the core ends. Use caution when standing it up on its end for display. That caveat aside, this is a beautiful addition to any fantasy or medieval collection, at a fraction of the price of a metal replica. I got an extra for my daughter and I just might invest in "Sting" one of these days too.

Exactly what I wanted
It looks just like the picture. It’s very lightweight, makes neat swooshy noises when you swing it fast, cool as hell. I know some people complained that the tip was too bendy but mine feels fine?

Awesome!
While not the best durability, weight and feel ate perfect. The handle fits perfectly in my hand and it's long like a real sword. It also arrived a whole week early!

Sword looks great and is nicely weighted
No complaints with this sword. The sword itself is very light being a dense foam. It is relatively sturdy, but the tip has broken off a few times. We glued it back on, but I guess my kid is a bit rough with it. Tell them not to balance it on the tip and/or lean on it, and it will probably last longer.

I. Personally am happy with it, Personally.
The foam its made with okay, the blade itself is too thin making most strikes painful if not harmful. The tips often come mis-shaped or damaged. Even torn, its durability is lacking and it takes damage very easily. The sword's shape and design to me offer a generic but visually appealing pull. The handle offering enough length for a one or two handed grip. I personally am happy with the purchase and for $20.00 its not a bad deal. However I wouldn't recommend this for kids or larping. Cosplays would be good, and it's not a bad wall decoration either.
