Extraordinary model
I have meticulously put together dozens of aerospace models since childhood and for its size and complexity this is the most extraordinary, hassle-free, and impressive-looking models I have ever assembled. It is ideal for those of us who don't have the patience for the mess of gluing dozens of pieces together and then painting it all. It took me at least six hours to snap the model together but every minute was a pleasure because the parts fit so well. The tiny lunar model, which is geometrically complex with lots of little parts snapped together in 10 minutes. Have Epoxy and Superglue ready for a few parts that need some extra anchoring. It's a real showpiece for any collection.

Really Nice Saturn V Model
I grew up with the space race, watching as Americans and Russians each tried to leapfrog the other in their accomplishments. I watched every launch and followed every mission. I bought the large Revell Saturn V model back then and took my time assembling and painting it. It disappeared somewhere over time and moves and I'd always wanted to replace it. But I knew I'd probably never find the time to put it together like I had when I was younger. I worked on the Space Shuttle and quite a few other programs and had my eye on this particular model for some time. There were few reviews and some of them weren't so good. I finally pulled the trigger and crossed my fingers. The model arrived just fine, though like others have noted the box looked a little worse for wear. I had the model assembled in less than two hours and was very pleased with the result. As some others have noted there were some smaller pieces that i decided to glue in place to keep from losing them. And the internal piping inside the second stage was a bit difficult to keep in place, but everything else went together relatively easily. If you're a space enthusiast I don't think you can go wrong with this model. Oh, except for needing the space to display it! :-)

Nice but with Some Flaws - Some of which have been Fixed!
Update: The SIVB (Third) stage has been corrected to remove the improper corrugated section. FameMasten even sent me a replacement part for my model so now it looks correct! 5 Stars for Customer Service!!!I recently purchased this model as I was intrigued by having a cut-away model of a Saturn V. I was rather impressed with the construction of the model and how it goes together. The engineering in the way the lunar lander goes together is brilliant. Though the model makes a nice showpiece and I'm glad of the purchase there are a few flaws in the model that made me deduct 2 stars from the review.1. Accuracy - The SIVB (third) stage of the Famemaster Saturn V is corrugated throughout its entire length instead of just on the top and bottom rings of the Original Saturn V. this is not as apparent on the cut-away side but is very noticeable on the solid side. This is a glaring error and would have been very easy to correct as the center piece of the SIVB is a separate piece. They could have easily remanufactured this piece as smooth instead of corrugated and fixed the problem. I'm tempted to write them and see if I could get a replacement piece that I could experiment on sanding down until its smooth.2. Painting Quality Control. Though the overall paint job on the model is pretty good there are some really back black over sprays on the black roll pattern markings. I was able to touch up the most glaring of them with some white paint but I'll really have to spend some time to clean it all up. I also had a command module which had been painted too heavily and had the paint sag in a ring about the base. This was combined with a ding in the shell where it had attached to the sprue. This was fixed with some putty, sanding and a new coat of paint but I feel I should not have had to do this work on $300 model. All in all this is a fair model of a Saturn V that really could be stunning if the manufacturer fixed the issue with the SIVB and had some better quality control on the painting of the model.

Despite some quality issues, I love it!
First of all, this thing is big, much bigger than I anticipated. That could be good or bad, depending on where you plan to display it.Secondly, you will need some basic tools to assemble the model, namely glue and an exacto knife. A couple pieces, especially on the lander, had to be trimmed to fit together. That was the most frustrating part of the build. And there's no way this thing will stay together without gluing some pieces, especially some of the tiny parts. The instructions can be a little unclear, especially with some pieces that look very similar. The instructions are entirely wordless, pictures only. The model comes pre painted, and while I can see a few details that could use sprucing up, I'm happy with the paint job out of the box.I love the detail of the rocket interiors, and I especially love being able to separate the rocket stages and take out the lander. This is a great learning tool for showing exactly how the Saturn V made it to the moon and back.Note, due to it's size, it can feel a little unsteady on it's vertical display. However, there's no way to display it horizontally without permanently attaching at least everything from the command module on up. Just don't put it anywhere you might have children running around.I had this model wishlisted for over a year, waiting for it to be in stock again, and I'm glad I snatched it up when it became available. If you have any interest in space exploration and have the room to display it, I highly recommend this model.

Amazing model for the money!
This model from the sheer size of it’s box blew my mind. After opening up and inspecting the pieces, the quality is second to none. The pieces fit perfectly into one another. The colors are bright and just have a nice detail to them.Overall the model is worth every dollar. Especially if you’re a space and rocket junkie like myself.
