We too liked the construction and the design eliminated some concerns about fixed combination of the locking mechanism that goes around door handle.Our usual pros & cons:Pros:+ This version has the cover attached to the base with a chain.+ The internal locking key was easy to get copied at local hardware store+ Seems very durable design, more so than the big box store national brand+ woman owned, US company designed (sigh to compete, made in China)+ rubber tubing around the shackle to keep from scratching the door knob. Nice touch!Cons:- this style doesn't work with long handle doorknobs we have on two doors, but none of the designs we have seen do!We'll update if over time it degrades. It sure looks and feels very sturdy!

This lock box is working great for my needs. I use it when I go out for a run and do not want my keys with me. There were some comments regarding the security of this box, but I think it is fine for most homes. Yes, i am sure it can be cut, pried with crowbar or hammered open, but then your standard American door lock Kwikset or schlage locks are easy to bust too.I am glad I got it and the price cannot be beat and the quality is more than adequate.

This broke apart. It was 3-4 years old, but it's scary to wake up, open your front door, and find your house key out there for anyone to use. It's too big and clunky anyways.

These are great cuz even if you give a code out to somebody they can't remove the box or change the code without the administration key

I'm a landlord, so I bought my own real estate lock. I like the design of this particular brand because it uses a key to unlock the shackle and to change the combination, which is very easy to do. The only bad design, is that the box and the cover are two separate pieces. It would be better if it was hinged or if the two pieces were connected by a chain. There is a chain attached to the cover, but it's for the key. And there is a tiny ring inside the box, but there's no way to attach the chain to it, so I'm not sure what its purpose is.

Don't lose the lock-box control key or you won't be able to remove the box from your door knob. The combination gives you access to the contents, presumably a house key, but the control key is needed to open the hasp to put the box on or remove it from the door knob. That same control key is needed to change the combination. Delivery was prompt. Good value!
