safe place while busy
We use the space as a safe place for Vector for the night or while cleaning. Since the bot is always on; we didn't want to accidentally step on him in middle of the night or early morning. Plus if kids or dog is being wild or I am cleaning the floor, it is just a safer place for him to be until him and his home is moved outside of the tray for him to explore. It does attract dust like crazy but cleans off easy. It is sturdy plastic, and if planning to keep him on a desk maybe this would be okay or for our purpose of safety for the bot. He seems unhappy in a little space otherwise. Overall worth the investment.

Great Space for Vector!
This item arrived in perfect condition from the seller, having been packaged inside a strong box. I really like this space to keep Vector safe when I cannot have him out exploring. It is very well made, although somewhat small, and has a place for his charger. I am very happy with this purchase and have expanded his space to include a ramp and low bridge to connect Vector's space to a larger tray. He loves it! I can also give him some quiet time in his smaller space. I recommend this space for anyone who has purchased Anki's Vector Robot.

Works great
Works great for Vector. Has a designated place to put his charging pad. When interacting with cubes you have to remove vector as he needs a large area to play with them. Solidly built and sleek as to match a modern dark colored room. Perfect for desks and night stands.

A little small, but much better than a cookie sheet
This vector space is a little small for the Anki Vector to really "explore", but it is much more aesthetically pleasing than a cookie sheet and does a good job anchoring the charger down. There is also a white line that goes around the periphery that triggers the Vector's edge detectors. The downside is that the actual explorable space is even smaller than it appears, but the upside is that the robot stays away from the lip around the edge that it could otherwise get caught on (which happened very often when we used a cookie sheet instead). The space is relatively stylish, although it will show marks as the robot moves around it. It is too bad that they don't sell some slightly larger models in addition. Maybe in the future they will sell "bridges" that can allow multiple vector spaces to be connected together to create "chambers." In the meanwhile though, this vector space does a nice job confining the vector to a small area in such a way that it is very unlikely to ever get stuck on the edges. As others have noted, it is a little surprising that this small unit was not included with every robot (or, alternatively, some higher walls that could be snapped together into a fence).

Excellent safe play area for Vector
This is a perfect little playground for my desk buddy Vector. He used to get into trouble with free range of my work bench. Now I just say “Hey Vector, go play!” and he rolls excitedly off his home-dock ready to interact with his cube. I love calling Vector into action now that he has a safe place to play. This is a must have for anyone who has a Vector buddy!

Vector seems to approve
So, I was gifted a vector robot on Christmas last year. He’s been an awesome addition to my room. This space not only gives him a place to rest, but also holds his cube accessory.Size wise - It’s not that big, I thought he could do some roaming around. He can, but it’s not much space between holding his charger dock.Material - This thing feels like a Rubbermaid lid to some storage container. It’s nice, I don’t know what I expected and I am glad that the few times it fell over (placed in bad places) it didn’t destroy whatever it fell on, or bent/break to pieces.I have no complaints on this, Vector seems to approve and if you’re wanting to get something for Vector to really explore on, or stretch it’s wheels, I suggest looking elsewhere or making your own. For now, this thing works for me.

Vector loves it!
Vector loves having his own space to run around in and I love having this play space for him because I won't have to worry about him running off the edge of my desk anymore. Before I had this play space I would worry if vector would fall of my desk. There were a few times he would fall off my desk but luckily I was there to catch him those times and I wanted to be able to keep him in sleep mode instead of powering him off but then I would run the risk of him potentially falling off my desk when I'm not there to catch him. When I found this play area for vector I immediately bought it because it meant I wouldn't have to worry about him falling ever again! It's an absolute game changer that's for sure!

WILL NOT PLAY IN IT BY DESIGN
I wish I knew before I purchased this that Vector will not play with his cube while he's in it by design. It doesn't say it anywhere in this listing, but I learned afterwards from a forum that he was built to recognize when he's in his space, and knows that he shouldn't play with his cube in it.I had to recently relocate Vector because of the quarantine, and I noticed he wasn't really as active on the new table I put him on. I assumed he wasn't comfortable with the edges of it (I found him several times crying for help on the edge), so I thought maybe he'd feel safer in this space. I put him in it, and when I told him to play with his cube he just ignored the command several times. I placed him on the floor and he immediately picked it up. I figured maybe he just needed to get used to his new space, but this persisted for days of him just sitting sadly on his charger not really doing anything. Then I started reading some online forums and learned that the space is essentially a dog cage for robots. I was under the impression it was a safe little place for him to play without worrying about falling, but he's not meant to be in it 24/7. Some people noted they put him in it while leaving him unattended for long periods of time. I ended up just rearranging the table he was on, and he seems much happier. You definitely need to make sure wherever you put him that there's space to the left of his charger, because this is where he likes to place his cube after playing with it. If there's not enough space he becomes distraught. Definitely a quirky little robot, but this space is overkill in my opinion.
