Rogues Paperback – 18 November 2018

I've been dying to get my hands on a copy of Rogues for what seems like ages now, but it was always either unavailable or just way too expensive for me to afford. I got this at a steal of a deal - under 500 Rupees - and it arrived in an ok condition (not damaged per se, but a little worn-looking - but that's more than alright for me considering the price). Rogues is a collection of stories from the best fantasy fiction writers out there today, except for Gilian Flynn (I wasn't sure why she was included in this list until I read her story - it was good!)My favourites of course were from Patrick Rothfuss and Joe Abercrombie. I really liked Lisa Tuttle's story too. Overall this was a fantastic buy and I'm so glad it was available in India! A great addition to any fantasy nerd's library.

I remember having first encountered this book in 2014 at the airport bookstore in Frankfurt. The first story 'Hard times All Over' not only kept me entertained for the better part of an hour, but also drove me towards the works of authors such as Rothfuss (Kingkiller Chronicles) and Lynch (Gentleman Bastards), and introduced me to authors of whom I had never heard of, like Joe Abercrombie (The First law series) . 3 years and several books later, I finally acquired the collection which opened my mind to the lands of Cammor and Newarre.If you like visiting fantastical and dangerous lands, well then congratulations, you just hit the mother-load.

I bought the book only for 2 authors that I'm a big fan of - Pat Rothfuss and GRRM. I read their stories first, and was not disappointed. Where this anthology surprised me was the high quality work included by the other authors whom I hadn't heard of. Special mention goes to Scott Lynch and Joe Abercrombie. I liked their tales so much I looked them up and read other books that they'd written.Rogues is a book I'd recommend to fantasy fans interested in discovering new authors.

Wow, I just can't lay my hands off this! Each story is a masterpiece and delicious!
