Aloha--My buddy gave me a Firefly 338, which is their take on the Gibson ES335.The guitar would not stay in tune------bad tuners and bad bridge. Both items are crappy.I bought these tuners. I did not want to spend much cash on this guitar because it is just a cheap Firefly. Much to my surprise these Wilkinsons were a 100% improvement over the stock tuners. AND----the small screw on the backs of the 6 tuners aligned perfectly with the same screw hole on the back of the headstock. (This small screw prevents the individual tuners from turning in the mounted position) So-----I did not have to have unsightly holes showing on the back of the headstock. The tuners work very well----smoooooth.As for the locking system-----the instruction was not included. You can see something on Youtube about it, but I elected to not use the system. Locking tuners are over-rated, in my book anyway.If you have this FF338 guitar-----change the tuners and change the bridge. Period. About a $45 investment.

I expected quality, and got quality. These are a direct fit for any modern machined headstock. They feel good, and they stay in tune.

These Tuners are a perfect drop-in replacement for the cheap original tuners on my Firefly FF338. My original tuners were a bit clunky, which is a common problem on Firefly guitars.I was able to drop the new tuners directly into all the existing holes of my Firefly FF338. That includes the alignment screw holes on the back of my headstock. The alignment screws were a little bit beefier (which is good) than the original screws, but they went in with no need to drill a wider hole. The depth of these screws was the same as the original alignment screws.Putting string on the new tuners was easy. I just followed the instructions that are included with the pictures in this product’s listing as well as watching a few YouTube videos.The travel of the tuners are smoother than that of the cheap tuners that came with the Firefly FF338 and so far it seems to stay in tune more consistently than before.The reason I took away one start is because when I was installing the tuners, the sleeves that bolt down from the top of the tuners through the holes of the headstock were a bit grimy when trying to finger tighten them. I had to use a 10mm socket tool to turn the sleeve down into base of the tuners. They went in OK, but not smooth enough to finger tight without the use of a tool. All the tuning machine heads turned freely except for one which gave some resistance at one point, but once beyond that point, it turned smoothly.I had one string break while putting them on the new tuners (I used the old strings on the new tuner, so there might have been a kink in the string causing it to break). This made me realize that changing string on these EZ-Lock tuners might be challenging. The break was near the tuning post, so I had to use a jeweler’s screwdriver and needle nose pliers to remove the string because it was locked on so well. By habit, when I change one string, I change them all. All the strings were difficult to remove, so am just pointing out this drawback in the design of these tuners, which do lock well, maybe too well.

Great tuners for the price! Solid machines and I love the ratio for fine tuning. I have 6 electric and put these on a build I just did. I have Gotoh and Sperzel on my others and was quite impressed by these. For the price, you simply can’t go wrong.

I'm pretty sure these are not authorized Wilkinson replicas. I.E. I think these are counterfeit. I've ordered several in the past from Wilkinson and they were in different packaging, you couldn't see tooling marks anywhere on them, and the chrome was good quality. One of the tuners also has a rough feel to it compared to the others.These were in a Musiclily package, they have deep tooling marks all over (primarily on the washers and the posts,) and the chrome appears to be bubbling up around the machine housing.Also, one of the mounting nuts was stripped. I had to use a thread file to repair it.I'm using them anyway because they're going on a cheap Indiana Scout acoustic and budget is what it's all about. I just needed it to be functional.

These tuners feel like what I’d expect from a set of Grovers. There is zero play in the gears when tuning up or down. They’re totally solid. Their first tuning held all day & is still in tune. Wow, that’s more than I could ask for. The funny thing is that the packaging was so crappy that I thought “ugh this looks like junk” No way- these things rule.
