This backpack has been through alot!
I bought this bag almost exactly 2 years ago. I just had to purchase a new one since I literally ran this last one into the ground. In the first photo the bag on the left is 2 years old, the one on the right is the new one I just received. I ride a motorcycle daily, and this backpack has been my go to commuter accessory. I also would take trips a least once a month to vacation spots within around 4-5 hours. I would cram everything into this bag and be on the highway for hours. Every-time I would go to the grocery store, I would pack this thing to the brim. This pack has been in rain, dry desert heat, and over packed day after day. Every time i'm on the motorcycle, this pack is on my back. You can see the first place the pack started to fail was on the like suede covering. That happened to start falling off around 1.5 years in. Then a large frayed cut started on the pack. It was small, but it started opening more and more since I would pack this thing to the gills. The only reason I had to get a new bag was because the zipper finally gave in. Some of the teeth broke off. I couldn't get the zippers back onto the teeth, so I figured it was time to get a new one! If you are thinking about picking one of these up, especially if you ride on 2 wheels, I wouldn't hesitate. Also I don't know how much spine protection you would get using this. I ride with full gear, and this bag is NOT CE level rated, but I figure it might work as a cushion for impact. BUT again, don't buy this to use a spine protector, it may cushion the impact, but its not worth it since its NOT CE rated.

Awesome!
This is an expensive backpack. After purchasing this backpack and using it through out the summer, and then in the rainy fall, I can honestly say that this backpack is a great value. I do not have difficulties with the waist strap, but I can see how if you were bigger in the middle, it would not fit around you.I spent most of the summer driving around on my motorcycle, and thus practically lived out of this bag. It seemed to be the perfect size to fit all my overnight supplies and a change or two of clothes with a pair of shoes.Three words to describe this pack: awesome, amazing, superbUpdated Review: I have been using this bag for over two years now nearly every time I've ridden my bike. I have ridden about 10k miles with this bag on my back, and I can say that I rarely notice that it is even there. The helmet strap is convenient, and the space is adequate for an overnighter or two. This is still an expensive backpack, but the value is incredible.Wear and tear: After over two years the only signs of wear on the bag is some wear on the reflective piping on the back, and the hard to clean bug guts on the front straps. (I could probably get them clean if I put in a little more effort.)Update: I’ve been using this back pack nearly every time I’ve ridden for the past 5 years. It still works exactly like the first day. The “suede” fabric has started to flake and the retro reflecting piping is worn, but this doesn’t affect the functionality of the bag. The rubber shell looks as good as the day I bought it. I recommend this bag to anyone who needs something to store items while riding a motorcycle. The price is completely justified with the functionality and quality of craftsmanship.

Comfortable, Good Quality, Plenty of Room
I bought it so I could bring my computer with me to work. But so far I have only used on weekends for light duty. First thing I noticed is how comfortable it is. A couple of times as I was riding I thought it might have fallen off. That’s how comfortable it is. I have a smaller OGIO version which I can definitely feel all the time. There’s enough space and amount of room compares favorably to standard backpack without rigid shell. I think it looks good with its semi blacked out style. I have two other motorcycle geared backpacks but this one is definitely my new favorite. Mainly due to comfort and turtle like rigid shell and style.

Perfect for the everyday rider
Absolutely LOVE the look. Just as I assumed, the look of the matte finish is much more appealing than the carbon fiber plastic look of the Mach 5. Also, the package may scratch easily, but a damp cloth seems to do the trick of erasing any unsightly scratches. The pack will sit up straight when set straight down. I was under the impressions from previous reviews that it'd simply roll over on its side (which it does not). I usually keep it packed with an iPad, water bottle, 2-3 changes of clothing and MAYBE a laptop, and the backpack carries it with no issues. The straps seem to bare the weight with little to no issues, I am confident that this pack will survive at least 3 years under my heavy use.Design -The case will NOT allow you to push the outer shell in without damaging the design. If you are under the impression that you can simply push it in to conserve space while storing, you are WRONG. It feels like a hard, dense foam mold of some sort for the shell, with red cloth liner inside (very attractive). Unfortunately there are not as many pockets as I would like on the inside but there is definitely enough for the essentials (Phone, iPad, Clothing, MAYBE shoes, water) It could easily fit more in my opinion, I haven't really filled it to the brim with anything, but I will try to take photos and post them for you on its capabilities later on.Will wait a few months and come back to update if necessary.
