Quick and easy to use
This scaffold is exactly what I expected and did the job I purchased it for, it is very easy to erect, it took two of us to put it up, but I could have done it myself it would just have been slower. In the picture it is only partially erected and will go a lot higher.

Outstanding piece of equipment
First, I have to say that I saw this product on Amazon first, but I actually bought it direct from the company, the only reason being that I wanted quite a few of the extras which I couldn't find on Amazon (or I would have bought from Amazon for convenience). Anyway I hope Amazon still prints my review because this is an excellent piece of kit! Maybe Amazon could look at supplying the whole range as I think some of the extras, discussed below, are actually essentials.I have no connection whatsoever to Toptower other than being a customer and received nothing from the company for this review. I just think that reviews from customers who have bought and used the products are important - and that goes for both good and bad products.I'm a first time scaffold tower buyer and wanted it to put uPVC cladding around the eaves of the house, including the apex which is almost 10m high.I dealt with Lloyd at Toptower. He was very knowledgeable and gave some great advice about a few things I hadn't considered. He was super-efficient and got everything right first time. This is a serious bit of DIY equipment, so if you're going to do it, do it right, and don't skimp! I bought the 9.7m (working height) platform (your feet are at a height of 7.7m). I also purchased adjustable base plates and adjustable castors. The adjustable base plates are great if your grass is a bit uneven, as it is easy to adjust the level (don't use castors on grass - keep them for your drive etc and only if it's level). By the way, getting the base level is critical, so spend a bit of time dong this, including hammering down the grass area to compact the soil and then put a board underneath the base plate to spread the load and avoid any sinking - and use a spirit level to get the base level. I also bought the safety pack upgrade, extra platform boards, toe boards and an extra pair of stabilisers, so that I had two pairs of stabilisers, as one pair comes with the safety pack upgrade. These are useful if you have a bay window (I do) and the stand-off (supplied in the safety pack upgrade) maybe doesn't reach the wall.I watched the video on Toptower's website quite a few times and read the instructions carefully. When the tower arrived (quickly, well packaged, in perfect condition and everything present and correct) I was able to recognise the components easily and set it out for assembly.I managed to assemble the tower myself, but I admit it was a bit of a challenge and took me about 6 hours. It would be MUCH quicker with 2 or 3 people and that is definitely recommended, at least for the 9.7 m tower. If you're doing it yourself, I definitely recommend buying extra platform boards - I bought two sets of 7 boards plus the trapdoor which comes with another 5 boards. The extra boards allow you to build extra platforms to rest each component on, as you manage it up the tower - and lets you have a breather, too!!!The tower has allowed me to easily reach all parts of the outside of the house and will easily pay for itself in doing this single job. It's also made of galvanised steel so should last. I also chose steel over aluminium as it's stronger, especially for a tall tower (I know that some people argue that aluminium has a higher strength to weight ratio, but steel towers are ultimately the stronger choice - they don't make oil rigs out of aluminium, do they!)Bad points? Not much. All towers will move a little bit and this can be disconcerting at first - it feels worse than it actually is and you soon become accustomed to a little bit of movement and you will quickly gain confidence. I'm a first time user and got used to it in a day or two and have already fitted uPVC cladding to the apex - see photos. So, in summary - don't skimp, buy the full kit, watch the video (several times), read the instructions (several times), assemble with at least one other person if possible, TAKE YOUR TIME AND STAY SAFE!!!Excellent company and excellent product - I'm very pleased!!!
