Folkmanis Hen Hand Puppet, Brown

She looks so real. I had people stop me in the airport and ask me if she was a real chicken. Those were the polite people.

I recently purchased this puppet, it being my first Folkmanis puppet. Overall, I have been very happy with the hen. The material she is made of is very soft and realistic looking, much like in the pictures. Since her wings as well as her neck and beak can move, there is a lot of play value with this puppet, more than a lot of other animal puppets. I have had a lot of fun entertaining people with her antics. A great product for children as well of adults. While the price may seem a bit high (note this puppet is a bit higher than many other Folkmanis animal puppets), this puppet is definitely worth it. the quality of the materials and the extra complexity of this design (such as having wings that can be moved) account for that. If this puppet appeals to you, I highly recommend purchasing it. It has impressed me so much that I will be buying more Folkmanis puppets in the future.The only negative comment I have is she hasn't laid any eggs yet. I was hoping that she would provide a sufficient number of eggs so I would no longer have to buy them at the grocery store. So far this has not happened. I will update this review if or when she starts laying.

This is a fantastic hand puppet. It looks real and is really well made. Makes a wonderful gift. It's nice to, once in a while, write a good review of a product. Folkmanis is a good company.

Let me start by saying I have grown to love this hen puppet. She was just WAY bigger than I expected! I actually have real chickens in my backyard, and this puppet is bigger than they are! That being said I (and my young music students),have grown to love “Big Bertha”. She is big, fat, and lovable, and can even sing opera. Her mouth is easy to manipulate and she can flap her wings and wiggle her tail feathers. What more can one ask for? ;) Folkmanis puppets are simply the best!

This is one of the best puppets I've ever had, and I've had a lot. You can make the neck and mouth move or the wings (I think that with practice you could do both at the same time). The neck motion is especially nice for a realistic bird look. The plush material looks amazingly like feathers. And the material on the feet has a texture that really looks like the skin on chicken feet. I think this is going to end up my favorite puppet. You can't go wrong with Folkmanis puppets.

This beautiful hand puppet is large and life-like. Your hand can move the mouth and can move the wings. The legs are long enough to drape over your arm for a sitting position but not too long that they look fake. The fabrics used are life like on the whole thing. Nothing cartoonish about this bird.

Well made puppet. Very large.

Daughter (age 6) requested this for Christmas. It *is* rather large, but it is well made, looks fairly realistic, and is one of her favorite toys.
