Perfect for a toddler!
My toddler loves playing music in her room. We gave her an old (but really expensive) CD player/radio that we weren't using anymore and when that finally died, we wanted something fairly inexpensive that could stand up to a toddler's rough hands. I had hoped to pay about $20 but couldn't find anything with good reviews that fit the price tag. I even tried a wall mounted unit that was more than this because I liked that it could go on her wall, but it was designed to leave a blue light on all the time. What?! Why?! So, I found this and gave it a go--it's completely perfect and I love that the size fits her shelf better than any of the others would have. It seems durable, it's easy to use and pretty intuitive for a toddler. The sound is fine and the controls are nice because they are very responsive--we can listen at a pretty low volume without it being an "all too loud" or "all too quiet" adjustment. I think the price is a little high for what it is, but that said I couldn't really find anything for less so I suppose it's in line with current pricing. I'm guessing people just aren't using CD players much anymore with phones and tvs that have music channels, so the companies that make these have to raise the prices just to make anything off of them. It's the only explanation I can come up with for why this simple technology that's more than 20 years old isn't super inexpensive. But, that's neither here or nor there. The product is good, it works well and time will tell if it's as durable as I hope.

Does what we needed
I ordered this radio because we needed a small radio/cd player for a corner of our bathroom counter. This was the right size. I probably should have given it only 3 stars, but there are so few little units like this out there, and we've seen so much worse than this one. The deal here is, we have over 700 cd's that we no longer use in general, and we can at least play them in the bathroom, one at a time. . .the sound with the cd's is acceptable. The radio. . .not so much. . .I like a little news in the morning, and I get it but poorly--I have to actually hold the end of the antenna wire in my hand to get rid of the static. BUT this DOES basically work and it fits our purpose. The fourth star is, well, for relief that we can stop looking for one of these. . .at least for now.

Great when you're tired of paying subscriptions
I have several albums I like to listen to repeatedly while exercising or working in my studio, and for the cost of a couple of months of a subscription to a streaming service, I can listen to them as many times as I want to on a CD. In fact, I like this so much, that I bought a second one so that I could keep it in my studio, even though the player is very easy to carry. My only wish for improvement is that I can't pause a song if I am interrupted -- I have to keep playing or turn it off and search for the song again. (This may be user error, but I have played around with it and haven't discovered how)

Perfect!
I’ve only had it for a week, but so far it’s perfect. Using it for CD’s. Sound is good, size is just right for small spaces. I have not used batteries so I can’t evaluate. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I like it so much I’ve just ordered a second one.

Died after about 6 months - after warranty expired
It's not easy to find a reasonably priced and simple CD player with built-in speakers, but this looked promising. We purchased for a Christmas present - the extra features and compact design were nice. Unfortunately, it completely died a few months after the 90 day warranty expired with gentle daily use of primarily the CD player. Also, it doesn't have shuffle mode for the CD.As per the warranty PDF our only remaining option is to contact Spectra and send it - prepaid - to them for repair, at our cost. For a ~$40 CD player that died so soon, we decided to not even try that. Instead, we're pulling an old boombox CD player from a family member's garage, dusting it off and using that - apparently that can last decades instead of months. As to how it died, first the CD player stopped working sporadically - it would read the CD and show how many tracks but you couldn't do anything; powering it on and off again until it worked seemed like a stop-gap resolution. It then died completely a month after with the same symptoms. After that, the rest of the features stopped working - the radio does nothing, the Bluetooth does nothing and the aux-in doesn't work. We're now left without the CD player and with a piece of landfill that lasted less than a year.Maybe this was a lemon, maybe not. I hope other buyers have a better experience.

Perfect home office player
When my office went full-time remote during the pandemic we were asked to not play music on our laptops while working to reserve bandwidth on the vpn for meetings and trainings. I've played CDs and MP3 through my personal desktop computer for years, but I found that running it for just that was really heating up my home office. This CD player/radio/Bluetooth speaker is the perfect solution. It takes up very little room on the shelf next to my desk and it sounds good at low volumes, which means my partner can take meetings in their office without having a soundtrack. One thing that was not clear to me when I bought it was the Bluetooth connection is inbound. I can connect to it with my phone and play music from an app; but if I want to connect to it with wireless headphones I have to plug in my Bluetooth transmitter. It's also nice to know it's not spying on me.

Cd player function only worked a little over a year
Disappointed that the cd player function only worked about a year and then stopped functioning. Only radio works now. Really liked this little cd player....when it worked.
