Tru-SpecMen's Gen-ii Adjustable Boonie

I was looking for a lightweight boonie hat for the boat and beach to keep sun off my bald head. True to size (I wear 7 3/4) and very light (wanted light weight because my head sweats) and well made. I have a lot of other Tru-Spec apparel (BDU/tactical pants) and have been satisfied so I bought this product. Have not been disappointed. Recommend!

I needed a hat that could pack small for motorcycle trips and wouldn't be ruined when it was needed. This fits the bill perfectly. It's actually my second one, just wanted a different color. I also have a very large head and the adjustability of these is perfect. Very satisfied.

Fortunately the photo (of what looks like a woman's sun bonnet) doesn't match the real thing. This is styled after a military boonie, I took a chance since it said I had purchased this item before and glad I did. Same style, quality and comfort as the hat purchase that I made several years ago, and it has held up wonderfully to the abuse I have put it through. Just machine wash and drip dry it, what more can I say it's a great hat and the name says it all Tru-Spec !!!

Hat is not too shabby. Good material. Decently stiff brim. Multiple uses for the internal map pocket. Definitely like the lack of daisy chain camo ring. The size adjustment seems like a good idea since I have quite a large melon on top of my neck, but it loosens every time i slip it on or adjust it. Not really a big problem just a minor inconvenience/annoyance. I'll know more after I spend a summer wearing it, but the way it stands I would recommend it to people.

As a women I've had a terrible time finding a sunhat that fit my apparently XL size head. I don't think my head looks incredibly large, but I guess it must be. Anyway, this hat is adjustable and has room to spare, so excited because I love to travel and this will be perfect for sun protection.

I bought this hat mostly based on other reviews. Ive owned many boonies hats over the years and thought I would give this new gen 2 hat a try. Functionality wise it seems to be a reasonably well made hat that gets the job done. I do miss the nylon loops around the top that almost all boonies have. I like the cord locks and the adjustable sizing cord. But this hat looks rather silly to me with a rather large puffy top. Most boonies have a rather sleek top and angled sides. This one leaves the top of your head rather puffy looking. The brim is reasonable but does not hold a straight line well. Brim tends to wave a bit but functions well. If your not worried about looks this hat should serve you well. If you want a classic straight edged boonie with a sleek look this is not for you.

Awesome hat. I got the olive drab version and it's exactly what I've hoped for. It's pretty lightweight and feels good on the head. The brim is a good size and provides perfect protection from the sun. Just a good quality hat. For the price, I can't recommend it enough. Another gem from Tru-Spec.

This product is nearly identical to the TruSpec Contractor Boonie - minus the hook-and-loop. There is no tactical webbing as shown in product photo, which I do not need anyway. Replacement for the Contractor Boonie which lasted until it was finally lost after about 3.5 years or so. Lightweight and flexible 65/35 poly/cotton works exceptionally well blocking sun and staying on in high winds. I added a thin plastic sheet to the map-pocket for extra UV protection and to keep the shape.
