it works after firmware and driver updates
I don't know why the pen that came with my tablet stopped working. It didn't get dropped or stepped on.I started having problems with the original pen after Windows 11 updated to 22h2. I tried a new nib. I recalibrated the monitor. It dawned on me I hadn't gone into the pen settings. When I did I discovered it didn't have any pressure levels available. While using it with Illustrator, the pen would stop before it got to the edge of the software. It was sluggish and would hang up. It was getting very frustrating to use. Zoom stopped working. Finally it stopped working altogether.I got the new pen and still didn't have any pressure levels. I checked to see if there was a driver or firmware updates. The software showed I had the most current version. I didn't. Turns out both had updates available, but only by going to Huion's web site. So, new firmware and a new driver and the new pen works just as it should. The old pen is still dead.

Very good product
It takes a long time form my kid to figure out how to use it. Actually how to install a software for the monitor. My kid loves this pen. No need to charge. She is still trying to figure out more functions for this pen and the monitor. Sounds like I love her adventures. She draws many pictures already. I personally want her to draw on the paper in a traditional way. But she likes the digital way.

Dysfunctional
The media could not be loaded. I've been using Huion for almost a decade now and I've very seldom run into issues with their products. However, I've noticed their pens seem to break almost ALL the time. Whether it's not holding the battery charge anymore or just straight up seizing to function.I bought this pen (PW500) After my last pen died, and when the pen arrived, not only was the box in poor condition (had a tear, and the bottom wouldn't even close) but the pen didn't work. (Shocker). I made sure that the pen was compatible with my tablet, made sure my drivers were installed and updated, tried troubleshooting for over two hours and I still have yet to find a solution. Having spent more than I should have on one pen only for it to show up damaged and unusable is incredibly frustrating.

Works great, when it works
I've had my Huion GT-191 v2 since November 2018, and I have nothing but praise for the tablet itself, however the main reason I'm writing this review is because I have had to buy two new pens in the last 3 months. The original PW500 model pen that came with the tablet worked for years, it took a lot of abuse as I learned how to properly use the tablet, being dropped to the ground and whatever else happens to a pen until it finally died back in December 2020. I re-downloaded the drivers and tried many tests to pinpoint the problem until I determined it was indeed the pen that failed, so I went ahead and ordered a new PW500 and it worked right away, problem solved? Not quite. Despite being very gentle with it and never dropping this second pen, Come March 2021, just 3 months after the purchase, I was in the middle of sketching when my pen went and died. Sometimes if I drag it around the tablet will detect the pen for a second, but its inconsistent and completely unusable now. I ran all of the same troubleshooting methods as before and again came to the conclusion that it was indeed the pen that died again. I ordered my third pen which just arrived, and it works right away, AGAIN, but there's no telling how long this pen will work before I end up having to purchase a fourth one.I want to be able to give this pen a better review, but these pens are expensive when you have to buy them like this, and since it seems to be the only pen that works with my specific tablet, I seem to be at an impasse where I'm not given much choice but to continue burning money on a poorly made product in order to use my tablet.

After some troubleshooting...
I used my Huion HS611 tablet for some time before the pen broke. I bought the PW500 as a replacement, and have had mixed results. At first, I had a lot of trouble with the pen. It couldn't pick up small strokes or strokes I made at certain angles. Thankfully replacing the nib with one of the included extras seemed to fix the issue. My only complaint now is that it controls more slippery than the old pen. I think the design changed sometime after the HS611's release, since the spare nibs for the pen that came with my tablet do not fit the PW500.In the end, after some troubleshooting, the pen works fine, but it was a frustrating few days! I think it functions alright as a replacement, especially if you need something to use while looking for a new tablet. Just be aware you may need to do some troubleshooting after you receive it.
