I have what I consider some of the best books on construction management
I'm a retired New York City construction professional - presently engage in developing my own construction services and management company in the South Jersey, Philadelphia area. I have what I consider some of the best books on construction management. I can honestly say - this is the best book I have read on the subject of "practical" construction management. The book is intelligently laid out and cover all of the most important issues that would confront a construction manager/owner. Those considering a career as a construction manger or becoming the owner of a construction company - would benefit immeasurably by reading this great book. To the author - You really know the business. You have done a great job with this book. Utilizing the practical applications in this book would make for a better construction industry. Thanks for sharing what you have learned.

Great book
As an MBE company located in NYC who is currently transitioning to commercial construction, this book was very informative and very very practical. Out of all the construction books that I have read this is by far the best one. It gives you an in depth understanding on the construction industry and gives great examples of what to expect when you start projects. I like the idea of "case study" where the author shares his personal experience so that you are aware of certain things when dealing with clients, other GC'S, subcontractors and more. I highly recommend this book to anyone starting out.

A good book to read with you decide to know the principles of construction
If you decide to know the main priniciples of construction projects and companies this book is for you. Inside it you will find many practical experience of the author. The only problem of that book is there are a lot of information that written in the form of list, because of that it sometimes boring to read it.

A practical guide based on great experience of a real professional
A practical guide based on great experience of a real professional. If just only part of recommendations is followed by contractors the ratio of successful projects would grow dramatically. This book is recommended for owners reading to understand contractors backstage (helps establish proper negotiating strategy and reasonable tendering approach). Simple language provides understanding for construction business beginners. Case studies from real life and methodologies will be interesting for professionals.

Very practical
Terrific book with lots of practical information. I like the checklists at the end of each chapter. Easy to print and share with the team as reminders of best practices.

Too many lists
The beginning of the book was the best part, after that it was list after list of things to think of.

Great read, really informative.
What I personally liked about this book were the case studies; they were great. Also, the proper explanation of every thing talked about.
