LEGO Technic RC Tracked Racer 42065 Building Kit (370 Piece)

I am just getting into Lego R/C - but I've been a builder for a long time. I am a fan of anything Technic, and I am a enthusiast of more traditional R/C cars, as well. I was really impressed with the speed and versatility of the Racer. As in all things Lego, the build process is straightforward, but I would suggest that they need to put a little more effort into the description of the R/C component operation. On the controller, it's necessary to reverse the direction of one of the motors in order to get both pulling in the same direction - and the point in the manual where this is specified is a little tough to easily see in the picture. It was easy enough to figure out, but I imagine it might give fits to folks that aren't used to radio control. The Racer track system appears to be really tough, and demonstrates great climbing ability. This vehicle is pretty much strictly indoors, as the chassis is essentially open frame. Highly recommended overall, though - I'm looking forward to spending more time with it, and adapting the chassis for other uses, too.

My 7 year old grandson put it together almost completely by himself, so the instructions are very straightforward. It's a very fun toy to play with once assembled too. He ran it all over our downstairs. The receiver is very strong as well. He could be 20-30 feet away and have no loss of signal. I am extremely satisfied with the value and overall quality.

This works great. Both our 2 and 6 year old can drive it with ease. The 6 year old was able to help quite a bit with the construction of it as it is a fairly simple build. Hoping that Lego comes out with ideas similar to this as it is great fun.

This LEGO Technic racer was a birthday gift to my 8 year old grandson. He put it together himself and it didn't take long.Only one problem- the remote didn't work. We didn't want to return the entire kit but Amazon couldn't replace just the remote. They suggest we purchase a remote and they would make a refund for the purchase. They were very considerate and quickly addressed my concern

The media could not be loaded. My son is 7 and has been building legos like crazy since he was 4. This was his first Technic kit, and it was a hit. It was challenging to build for him, but he still succeeded, and the final product is wonderful. He also uses the WeDo 2.0 kit, so he has had experience with the motors and connections.Now onto the final product. IMHO, this is a GREAT RC vehicle for inside. It turns super quickly, yet isn't insanely fast and smashing into things, but to overcome that it has the ability to go over almost anything! My son has built things using Legos to drive over and around, and it can transition from hard wood to carpet easily!I attached a stop motion video of him building the last 75% of it, and thought it would give you an idea of what was involved. (My poking in is 95% just flipping the page, or handing him a piece he was looking for that he couldn't find.)I also really like that we can expand on this kit and change it into other vehicles, and I am hoping we can play with gears a bit to show the impact on speed.

I bought this to use when playing with th dog. Lots of fun for me and fat backside doesn't have to get out of the chair. LOL. Not as fast as I wanted it to be. I should have bought a car but that's not because there is anything wrong with the tracked racer, I just wish it was faster. It's another very fine LEGO product.

We purchased one for our grandson for his Birthday in August and he and our 40 year old son (lol) loved it! Well, our almost 7 year old grand-daughter wanted to play with it and needless to say, that became an issue with our 5 year old grandson so, we bought our grand-daughter one for her Birthday so they didn't fight over it. Our son bought some single LEGOS from LEGOS and changed some of the colors on one of them so that the kids could tell them apart. They both absolutely love them! The age says for older kids so our son had to help put it together, other than that, the kids can work the remote control very well. They play battle bots with them! So we have two very happy grandchildren! We ( Grammy and Papa) highly recommend this! Oh, we highly recommend rechargeable batteries for them!

This is such a ridiculously fun Lego Technic set. With the two Motors and 2 channel remote it is a formidable little tank. Be consistency of the Lego pieces boggles the mind. The track interlocking parts are perfect. My only beef with the design was how the body fits on the chassis a little loosely. If you have small kids that's going to get wrecked pretty soon.
