A Classic for all
This book I used for my research on Ramanujan.A classic by Hardy who invited Ramanujan from colonial India to Cambridge & who relentlessly made Ramanujan solve unique problems in Mathematics.

Pleasant and enjoyable read, but leaves you wanting more
This book was first recommended to me 30 years ago though I was unable to lay my hands on a copy then (Kindle didn’t exist back then). Having read it now, it did feel a little ‘disappointing’ if only because I thought it would have more mathematics in it! Other than two proofs (infinite primes and the irrationality of the square root of 2) there is almost none. Yes, the author’s treatise on the usefulness of pure mathematics is an alluring and pleasant read, but I would say, not much more than that. Written as it was in 1940, perhaps there was some contextual relevance to such a narration, but in the modern world, less so. But it’s a short and sweet book, so go ahead…

Nicely written, still very much relevant. Enjoyed reading the book.

commenting upon the context or content of the book is completely useless, as it is a timeless classic
Although, commenting upon the context or content of the book is completely useless, as it is a timeless classic, but the condition (displayed in the pictures) in which I received the book was disappointing. Responsibility of the seller, for sure. But this edition is free from typographical errors, very much common in other low end editions of the same. Foreword by Dr C.P.Snow is equally fascinating.Thank you.The book deserves a five star, needless to say, but the seller, well, not more than two.
