Kai Select 100 Fish Scaler

I have been using this scaler for 6 months & I am happy with its performance & efficienty in saving time scaling & cleaning the sink compare to just using a knife's blade; it captures or able to confine most of the scale instead of scales flying all over the sink. The scaler has the quality built, feel & balance of a well machined tool. My only concern is the durabily of the plastic cap/cover. I hand wash the plastic cover hoping that will prolong its durability.

Works great for the price. The cover minimizes fish scales getting on my counter and everthing else in the kitchen. Very easy to use.

This fish scaler is so easy to use and it is my go to tool when I get back from fishing . It does a quick job of getting rid of those darn fish scales.

This is a decent product that is a a lightweight aluminum. I wouldn’t suggest it for every day fisherman. I struggled with keeping the scales in the little cup.

Possibly the best fish scaler! Easy to use and clean. Can be double as a spoon to scrape off inner belly too. Just rinse off with water and done…

As I have YET to catch any fish, I haven't gotten to use this but it seems pretty sturdy and I like that it has the guard to it. It's currently in my tackle box, waiting for the day that ONE of us catches a fish. I'm not holding my breath.

5 stars because this darn thing works. The plastic shield prevents scales from flying all over the place...Here is an unsolicited tip: Disregard how those TV chefs scale fish using plastic bag, and instead, scale fish under water using a large basin with enough water to submerge fish. No scales to fly around. Add this tool to the process and scaling fish is a breeze. For years ive been scaling fish submerged in water (with a fork)...this tool is sooo much better than a fork.

We've been looking for a fish scaler. Unfortunately, most of them have the California 65 Warning, meaning that they contain the harmful chemical. We don't understand why someone will use harmful chemical (e.g., lead) to make a tool for food preparation. Finally, we found a scaler which does not have the California 65 Warning label. Although it costs 6x more ($1.5 vs $10), we are happy to pay for the difference.
