Gorgeous, highly detailed felt pieces
I used these for a food unit and couldnt be happier. These were used with our felt wall which receives lost of traffic and the pieces held up very well to lots of little hands! The pieces are soft, flexible and a good size for kids to handle or to be displayed for teaching. There is a nice variety of foods and even some "fun" foods like pizza and soda. The color and detail of the pieces just awes me; I mean I think I can read the nutrition facts on the milk carton if I try hard enough lol As a bonus it includes a guide to help you teach about nutrition. It was packaged well and ready to use out of the package.

This has helped my kids make healthier eating choices! Great teaching tool
I ordered this to do some home education that complimented what my 5 year old was receiving at school. The teacher was working on identification of food groups and which foods belonged to each group as well as promoting healthy eating habits. We had a felt board already that the kids loved to use. These food figures were great. The pictures are clear and the kids had no trouble identifying the foods. The figures "stuck" to the felt board without falling/moving.I have used this product to allow the kids to help with meal planning. Both my 3 and 5 year old choose more fresh fruit and vegetables for a meal when I use this as a teaching tool. We have made several games with these figures. I have found that a relay game or race has worked well. I tell the kids to stand on the opposite of the room with the felt board and scatter the figures on the floor. Then I tell them to "get a protein or a vegetable" etc. and the run to grab a figure and place it on their side of the board. I judge accuracy and we discuss the results. I have had the product for about a month now. For the first week we played with it daily as my 5 year old was working on this unit. Even though the unit is over at school, we continue to pull this out every so often and the children will model a meal we ate or are preparing on the plate. I can already see that my children are modeling healthier behavior and making healthier food choices on their own. I even hear "mom, you can't drink pop, that is a sometimes food" or "Mom, you didn't make a fruit for dinner, we need to have something from each food group". I will happily listen to this type of "criticism" of my cooking. Great product to help guide another generation to healthier living!

Great buy for what I need
I use these for my preschool presentation about dental hygiene and nutrition. They stick on my felt board and it is large enough for the kids to see if they are sitting in the back of the room. It has all sorts of food items. Great buy for what I need.

Colorful but small
I have this nutrition set and the regular fruits and vegetables for the flannel board. My two year old class LOVES the flannel board and we leave it out during center time so the children can come over and practice verbalizing the names of the different varieties of food. Sometimes we have them match the flannel board cutout to the actual produce, and we are always using it to help with memory games as well. These are much smaller than life size, so with two year olds I use the other ones but for the 4-5 class, they like these to make a variety of meals on a plate.

Thank you for a very good food playset
My daughter likes the set very much. It has a lot of pieces to make a variety of meals. The only thing I think it can improve in the future is to add modern healthy diet choices such as quinoa, Asian vegetables(I live in Irvine.), etc. And maybe take out such sweets as donuts or ice cream. Eating dessert is not a part of a healthy meal although it seems to be a tradition. Thank you for a very good food playset!
