Great phone
Love this phone. Always been a fan of Nokias and for someone who is not bothered about having top of the range gadgets, this phone does way more than I was expecting from it. Both the fingerprint scanner and facial recognition work brilliantly and the screen picture quality is excellent. Battery life also very good. My only flaw is that on occasion there is a slight hesitation when trying to use things on it but other than that, I would highly recommend this phone.

Connectivity problems galore….
I’ve always liked and used Nokia phones; my last one was the 640XL, a windows phone, enjoying it for the past 3 years. Purchasing the Nokia 5.1 phone was me finally letting go of the windows ghost to go Android.Firstly, it is a beautifully designed phone, it looks and feels slick. The display is responsive and typing texts is intuitive and easy. The build of it feels solid, the quality is certainly there. However within a couple of days I noticed serious issues with all of its connectivity functions.Wi-Fi: When powering the phone on in the morning, sometimes it wouldn’t connect to my Wi-Fi, instead would use up my mobile data. When I checked the settings, the phone Wi-Fi had actually TURNED ITSELF OFF for some reason. Also, if I left my house; on return sometimes it wouldn’t reconnect to my Wi-Fi – most annoying! The simple workaround of course was to switch the phone Wi-Fi setting back on again, or on/off again when it didn’t auto reconnect, but why should I need to do/check this every time?Bluetooth: It was easy enough to sync to my car, but this is when the next annoying problem was found. Around 40% of the time, after starting up my car and driving away, my car would speak to me saying, “No phone is connected.”Once again the simple remedy was to switch the Bluetooth on the phone off and then on again. In this day and age I think this is totally unacceptable, hands free via Bluetooth is a complete 100% necessity in cars – no one needs this hassle, we’re talking potential car accidents here.Mobile data: This was probably the most annoying issue of all. If in an area where the signal was weak it would switch mobile data off, OF ITS OWN ACCORD. Now, to be clear, if I went into the settings and tried to switch mobile data back on, IT WOULDN’T let me do so. The setting wasn’t ‘greyed out’, it sort of jerked to the ‘on’ position when I tried to move it but adamantly went back to the ‘off’ setting – how infuriatingly annoying! The workaround for this was to switch the phone to ‘flight mode’ for a second. After that the phone would make an effort to reconnect to 4G, H+ or whatever, often finding it, only for it to switch off mobile data AGAIN after anything ranging from 20 mins to a couple of hours later. If you didn’t do the ‘flight mode’ workaround the phone would just sit all day with the mobile data switched off for hours, doing nothing, not receiving any ‘WhatsApp’ messages or any newsfeeds/weather updates etc. If I moved the phone into a strong signal area (when leaving work) it would reconnect to mobile data fine, I’ll give it that. However, I had no such problems with my previous phone: in a poorer signal area it would continuously try to reconnect to mobile data and I would receive my ‘WhatsApp’ messages: it certainly didn’t switch the setting off by itself!I tried changing the connectivity settings, updating the software, resetting the connectivity settings then reconnecting with everything again. I even did a full system reset (clearing all data on the phone) but nothing worked. This phone appears to have a mind of its own, the connectivity software not programmed/operating properly. I’m sure these issues will be fixed with future software updates, but after 5 days I’d had more than enough.I returned the phone, favouring to try the Samsung J6 plus.I know Nokia have gone through a tough time recently with Microsoft ‘letting them go’, so they’ve quickly had to learn how to programme with the Android software. Well, it appears they are still learning. I honestly wish Nokia the best in them transitioning to Android, and I’ve no doubt they will produce some excellent phones with equally good software in the very near future. In fact I’m pretty sure I’ll be buying Nokia again. But for now, they need to be a bit more patient and concentrate on thorough testing before releasing to the public.A shame!

This phone stops functioning after around four months.
It works great for the first month then gets progressively slower the more you use it. My device barely functions after four months of use. It regularly crashes, the camera will not focus, there is a massive delay when you type text, you cannot open more than a couple of apps at a time without it slowing down.I honestly appreciate the price tag but it just is not worth it.

Great inexpensive mobile phone.
Good inexpensive mobile phone that functions well with the latest Android 9 installed. The phone is not heavily used with multiple Apps running so the limited memory and storage is not a problem for me. The phone network reception and WiFi function are excellent.

Amazing
It's a really good phone. I had the Huawei P10 for a couple of years before this and it is very reminiscent of it. The battery gets warm quickly when in use but cools down just as quick. The camera quality is good along with the screen resolution. My only qualm is that the phone doesn't come with a screen protector and case you have to buy those separate which I didn't realize but other than that I'm very happy with the phone Nokia still know what they're doing.

Avoid
I have purchased 3 Nokia phones this year and they have all crashed including my. Latest 5.1. After less than a month the phone failed to reboot after the battery had suddenly gone flat. Tried several times to reboot but no joy using advice on Nokia website. I am not willing to return a phone loaded with personal data so am stuck with an unusable phone. I had the same issue with a Nokia 5 purchased earlier in the year. That issue aside the widescreen aspect ratio makes for a very tiny screen. Despite being 5.5 inches when measured diagonally and the internal speaker is very tinny which is an issue for viewing films and listening to music. There are better and more reliable phones out there. Avoid!
