Essential for stretching taut canvases.
Very effective for stretching taut canvases and have used it many times. The spring is a little weak but otherwise it a good tool and value for money.

Ok does the job!
They're ok to use. I found them a little bit wide and so a bit difficult when you get to the corners on small canvas stretcher frames. However, I think they would work weel on larger canvases. The spring seems to be the issue with these, and it looks like i'm not alone, so my advice would be to just forget about the spring as it is annoying when it pops off.

Good grip, good leverage, sturdy
Sturdy, good grip, spring fell out once but not a problem. Completed 3 large stretch canvases. Could do with pivot bar at top so you can use them upside down as handles sometimes touched canvas when used right way up.

Disappointing Quality
Well, these do the job, but I was a bit disappointed at the quality. Considering how much they cost they are really rather poorly made. I can't help but think these are over-priced. On the table the jaws are misaligned. So are the grip pads. Most of the problems seem to come from the fact that the rivet holding them together is a rather badly fitting and the joint is a loose. There is a lot of wobble. That looseness doesn't matter when you use them but they feel look and feel cheap. Also they are badly designed, the handles are a long way apart even when the jaws are closed, which means you need large hands to operate them. They work, but just don't expect anything impressive. I am not going to return these because I suspect that other brands are the same, but I am not exactly happy. I would certainly expect a tool at this price to be a lot better than this.

Gripper pads
Gripper pads fell off after 4th stretched canvas. 4 canvases out of these things. I’m lucky this happened right at the very end of a stretch because this was a critical moment in exhibition prep
