I got this to take on a kayaking trip. The one I had wasn't waterproof and I didn't want to take any chances of ruining it. I love the quality of Altec Lansing's products, so it was easy to figure out what I needed. The hard part was figuring out which model to get. This unit is heavy duty and ready for anything. It's covered in a heavy duty rubber coating that does a great job at protecting it and it's waterproof. We found out how durable it is when it fell off the top of the kayak, that was over our heads, and rolled down the landing into the water, as we were getting out of the river. It was still in perfect condition with no damage or issues. I was impressed! The sound quality on this powerful little thing is clear and crisp. You wouldn't think you'd get such rich bass from a unit this small, but it's superb. It worked wonderfully out on the river. It'll pair with pretty much any bluetooth device quickly and it keeps the connection. No need to worry about having to constantly re-pair it. It's got around a 100 foot range, which was great because my phone died halfway through the trip. We paired it to my friend's device that was in another boat and it worked with no issues. The battery life is AMAZING!! We got almost 11 hours of use on one charge. I was shocked and thrilled!! This was a great purchase. It's a reasonable waterproof speaker that performs better than some of the speakers I've had that cost twice this. I actually have to buy another one because my daughter "accidentally" took it back to college and won't be home until May. Dang kids!! 🤣🤣

If you’re looking for a really good Bluetooth speaker that has great base. This is the one you’re looking for the nice thing about it is if you take it on a boat it’s waterproof or if you’re out by the pool it’s waterproof. The sound is great and I highly recommend it.

I just purchased my 2nd one of these Jacket H2O 4.The other one I used for just over 2 years before the charging port/battery failed.When I bought my 1st one, I tested all the similar products from $30-120. I ended up with this one because the sound was much better than even the $100+ options.For reference I listen to pop, rock, punk, rap, electronic, metal, folk, etc. This speaker sounded the best across all those genres.2 years ago I paid around $75. Now they are cheaper but same quality as before.There are many more options in the $30-50 range today, but I was willing to repurchase the same item since I knew what I was getting.If you want a lot of water resistance, this may not be the product for you. It was fine for me in the rain. The port cover needs to be in place to keep that area dry.The 1st speaker I purchased I used primarily hiking. Sometimes at below freezing temps. It held up well even with me having it in an outside pocket that I would bang around at times. The rest of the time I used it at home. I did have a portable charging battery I would use hiking at times and that could have led to the faulty charging port/battery.2+ full years of use was well worth $75, and now looks even better for around $45.

Its a great speaker!

I got this today and I'm loving it so far. The sound is so much better than the Walmart brand one I have. Sounds are nice and clear. Not sure if it's worth $50 I got it for like $29 while it was on sale.My only little gripes are the buttons hurt the finger when you're trying to lower or raise the volume, the rubber buttons press into the skin. Also needs a play button. And the turning it on sound is annoying I know it's an altec Lansin lol don't need to be reminded every time I turn it on.The turning off sound is really pleasant and I enjoy that. I love the smooth feel of it. I'm pleased with this speaker.

This is my 3rd Altec speaker. First one lasted 5-6 years then the dog chewed the charger cord and rubber cover. Ordered an Altec Mini last year for me inside while cleaning to listen to music or podcast. Ordered another Lifejacket H2O for him to replace first one. Great quality in sound and volume, durable on boat at the lake as well as sand at the beach. Survived the rain but never dropped into the water. Have dropped onto hard floor and rubber cover protected without any damage. Awesome speaker for reasonable price!!

The speaker is great but the microphone is trash and you cant turn it off so every time you wanna use siri or talk to text you have to disconnect from the speaker.

Bought this to have music while outdoors or playing cards w/family this winter. Great sound & strong bass.
