Q: The water heater connector ¾ hose fip in the description but show 1/2 fib in picture which is it 3/4 or 1/2 nip

They fit 3/4" plumbing threads and PEX pipe. The concern I had with the product was the braded water line is only 1/2". This reduces the water volume in and out of the water heater. As such I did not use them. I saved them as backup parts.

Q: can this be used for salt water applications

I wouldn't use for salt water. Instead I would plumb direct with brass and pex. To clarify for salt water source the individual fittings, ball valve and PEX pipe to make my own
