I am extremely satisfied with the performance of this LED light bulb in ...
After reading the mixed reviews here I decided to give this LED bulb a try a couple of months ago. I wanted to replace the stock incandescent bulb in the flashlight that came with my 18v Porter Cable bundle of power tools ....cost of the kit was about $230 5 or 6 years ago. The model # of the flashlight is PCL 180FL. I wanted to replace the stock bulb because I was unsatisfied with the amount and color of the light output, and wanted to get longer battery life. After using this bulb many times (almost daily - much of the time for an hour or more) over the last couple of months, I am extremely satisfied with the performance of this LED light bulb in all ways. It is very much brighter and very close to day light in color. The focus of the beam is very strong in the middle and gradually fades out to the edge of the light beam just as an ordinary flash light beam does. All areas of the beam are usable enough to provide adequate visibility of whatever one wants to see. For example it completely lights up my 24' by 24' garage/shop well enough for me to see to move around and find what I want. On my flashlight the focus ring on the front of the light works just as it did with stock bulb. Battery life is several times longer than with the previous incandescent bulb. The most remarkable gain this LED light gave me was the distance it covers. At night in the dark, I can clearly see the tops of the very large pine trees (60 ft+ in height) well enough to see some doves roosting in the tree! Standing on my carport I can see well into the woods that are about 100 ft away ...well enough that I could have clearly seen any deer or raccoons back there, which there usually are.Since installing this LED light bulb I have dropped the flashlight a couple of times ...once while standing on a ladder where it landed on our hard brick floor. Each time I held my breathe as I turned the light on to see if it still worked. It did each time, so I guess the bulb isn't too fragile!I can only speculate on the performance of this LED light bulb in other lights, or even in other models of 18v Porter Cable flashlights. But if you are looking for an excellent LED replacement for your Porter Cable 18v Flashlight Model # PCL-180FL, then I can't imagine a better choice than this bulb.I am just a guy who was looking to upgrade my bulb in my incandescent flashlight with an acceptable LED bulb. I got much more than I was hoping for. Even at the $16 price tag I consider the purchase a bargain!I have no other interest in making this review other than to report my experience to others who are trying to make a choice among the many products available. I have no interest in the company, nor any interest in convincing anyone of anything. I am just reporting my experience with this product in order to be helpful to others.

Major flashlight upgrade for minor expense.
Incandescent bulb on my 18volt Hitachi flashlight burned out and I replaced it with this LED hoping to improve the overall performance. WOW! What a difference. Much brighter and whiter lighting than before. Far more long range beam than before. Doesn't get hot like the incandescent did makes me confident my battery will last much longer before a recharge is needed. Win, win.

Upgrade for my Ryobi P704 light
This is a very good upgrade to my Ryobi P704 18 Volt area light. Battery draw is much, much less, and I no longer have any worries about burning out the bulb if I drop the light while it is on.The standard bulb had a fairly even pattern, this one has a notably brighter center spot (that reaches quite a bit farther than the standard bulb), surrounded by a halo, of dimmer light. The light pattern is ideally suited for a 'walking' light. The bright center spot shines far ahead, while the wide angle halo of dimmer light is bright enough so you can see where you are walking. I would probably want a more even light for doing things like mechanical work, as there is too much contrast between the bright center and dimmer halo. For my uses, a great mod to my 704 light.

Greatest thing you can do for your worklight!
Best thing ever for my Milwaukee flashlight. I had put three bulbs in the light that came with my 18V lithium cordless tool set and gotten less than 10 minutes use for all three combined. Filament would break first time you bumped it (even gently) with the light on. Not a good trait in a work light. I had given up on using it at all until I got the wild hair to check for an LED replacement. This fit great and works like a champ. Had the light on for 2.5-3 hours last night changing a radiator in the wife's van. Still showed 4 bars of batter life this morning when I checked the battery pack. Light is bright, though not terribly focused (it's a worklight not a spot) and it got knocked around a bunch during the job with no ill effects! Wish I had found this first thing, makes the light I've had for 5 years a useful tool finally.

I would recommend this to anyone who will be using their work-light ...
I bought this to use in my Milwaukee M18V work-light (49-24-0171) after I knocked it over and broke the stock incandescent bulb. Shipping took a week via USPS. It is exactly as pictured, a little smaller than the original bulb. The throw is just ok compared to the other bulb as well. The color gets much colder and you can tell it's an LED. The beam is very focused with some spill that is not very bright. As someone else had stated the problem in a work-light is that the entire reflector is not used because the LED only shines forward in one direction as opposed to a 360 degree filament luminance. The flag is about eight feet away from the wall (3'x5' flag for scale), the blank wall picture is about two feet away so you can see the focus and spill. The truck is lit from about 25 feet away. I had the beam focused on the neighbors garage door in the last photo so you can see a before and after. There is a street light directly between the work-light and his garage door but the fact I could tell a difference at that distance with a street light in-between us shows it does still have some decent throw. So far I have only used it a couple hours and the battery is still at four out of four bars. It is an M18 XC 54 Wh battery though so I won't expect this to go dead for a long time.I use the light mostly for working on cars and lighting up spaces I underneath where I don't want to drag a cord with me. It works fairly well if you are trying to focus on one small thing. The main reason I went with this bulb over the normal incandescent bulbs was for durability. I much prefer the color, spill, brightness and cost of the original bulb. I would recommend this to anyone who will be using their work-light a LOT and bumping it where the chance of breaking bulbs is high. Batteries are rechargeable and plentiful so run-time is not a concern. I will update this review if I have any issues but so far so good.
