My new favorite cutting board wax
During the pandemic, I bought a fairly large Boos Block cutting board, and realized I needed to protect the investment. Having only really ever had non-wooden boards at home (think Gorilla or Oxo style), and considering the size and cost of a decent cutting board (it's so big, it lives permanently on the counter - no cabinet can hold this thing!), it's important to take good care of the block. My first few months with it, I used the Boos Block Mystery Oil and Board Cream two-step process, just to get a feel for protecting the board. Well, the mystery oil goes on and wipes off easily. The board cream, on the other hand, since it comes in a squeezable package, you often tend (at first, while learning) to apply way too much, making wiping off all the excess a challenging exercise that uses way more paper towel than it should. The tube itself is also fairly difficult to squeeze and get product out.Once the first tube was mostly empty (also, getting the last bit out was difficult since this stuff doesn't flow AT ALL, open it up and use a butter knife!) I decided to check out other products. After exhaustive searching, this Clark's product stood out. While it wasn't a large amount of board wax, paired with the round applicator pad (with handle!) which fits the container's opening perfectly, this wax will last you a LONG time. Waxing the board each month is now a quick and mess-free process of using the applicator to pull up some wax from the container (just twist it a few times to get a good bit on the applicator) and then applying it to the board. No excess to wipe off, except the stuff that was applied, which is a nice thin layer and wipes off easily after a few hours. Store the applicator in a zip-top baggie and it's good to go for the next month's waxing. The only gripe I have with the product is it smells REALLY nice in the container. Once you apply it to the board and wipe off excess, all that beautiful scent is nearly impossible to pick up anymore. This is probably for the best, but it makes me wonder why scenting the wax was even done in the first place. It doesn't affect the function of the wax to protect and seal the board, but it did leave me slightly disappointed. If I want to breathe in the lovely scent, all I need to do is open the container.

GREAT WAX - WONDERFUL SMELL
I originally bought this to maintain the condition of our charcuterie board and soon found it a great product for our kitchen cutting board island. Highly recommend!

Indispensable product for wooden kitchen products!
The media could not be loaded. I teach woodworking workshops and I have bought this product several times. Clark's wax is on every cutting board that leaves my shop (over 200 boards in the past year!) I love it. My classes love it and I recommend it to everyone who buys or builds cutting boards (carved wood spoons, etc) at my studio. The fragrance is so nice. At first I thought the scent would potentially carry over into food prepared on the boards but it actually dissipates over a few days or so and is undetectable, which is something I appreciate a lot. I use a wood oil before this wax, so the change in appearance isn't so drastic on a newly oiled board. This waxing is a critical second step in my opinion as it seals and protects the cutting board's surface from liquids much more effectively than oil alone. This is one of my favorite "finishing" products in a wide range of finishes a wood shop uses! 👍👍

No real instructions
Loved the smell, wasn't sure how much to put on or how to go about doing it. I just put a glob on and rushed with a towel. The only bad thing was that it beads up but after a while, it does soak in...just takes time :)

This is great stuff!!
I have a 50-year-old butcher-block table (see picture) that badly needed surface treatment. Using regular wasis difficult, hard work, and takes several applications so I have not done it very often. After reading the reviews for Clark's Cutting Board Wax, I ordered same. It is exceptionally easy to apply and smells like freshly-sawnsoftwood (pine, spruce and the like). The scent fades away after a couple of days. I applied the was to the table and then ten days later put on another coat. Very easy: apply the wax to the wood, rub it down quickly and easilywith an old towel. One caution: if the surface has been varnished or shellacked, it won't work.

Nice finish
I've been using this on my wooden stove top cover. I oil the wood first and let it sit overnight before waxing. Even though the oil significantly improves the look of the wood on its own, the wax just takes it up another beautiful notch. Pictured is a comparison between the oiled side and the oil + wax side.As an added plus, it smells great!
