DON'T go to the dealership if you only have 1 original key!
The Ford instruction manual explains the process for pairing additional keys if you already have 2 original keys. If you only have 1 original key, you are led to believe that you need to pay a small fortune at a dealership or locksmith to complete the task for you. This is not true.If you have 1 original key, you can use a program called FORScan with an OBDII scanner (like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to program the others. Search online for a video titled "Programming New Keys for my 01 Ford F-150 with FORScan (Cheaper & easier than a trip to the Dealer!)"That video will walk you through the process and the instructions will work with many models of Ford vehicles. I have a 2010 Ford Escape Limited and it worked perfectly for me.The man in the video uses a tablet to run the software and connect to the OBDII scanner, but I used a laptop. The first thing you should do when you receive these keys - and you won't need a program for this - is to program/pair the remotes to your vehicle so that the buttons will function to lock and unlock your doors, release the rear hatch etc.. This is a very simple process which requires a sequence of key turns and button presses. You can find instructions for that in your vehicle's manual, online or in another Amazon review. I say to do this first because it's free, and if the remotes don't work you'll want to return the keys. After you have done that and have confirmed that they work, that's when you should have the key blanks cut at a locksmith. It cost me $3 total to have these blanks cut. After that, I proceeded to use FORScan (with the aid of the video I mentioned) to program the keys/chips to start my ignition. There was one step of the process that was slightly different for me than for the person in the video, but he explains that it may be different. I had no trouble at all. Just make sure you fully understand everything being done in the video before you begin the process yourself. The FORScan software will guide you, too, by the way.If you make a mistake, you may not be able to start your car even with your original key. It sounds scary, but as long as you follow the instructions, you'll be fine. The only thing that delayed me starting the process was pairing my laptop to the OBDII scanner. After you pair your laptop or tablet to the scanner via bluetooth, you'll then need to select your OBDII scanner in the FORScan software for it to connect to your vehicle. That's just me being slow, though, and not a problem with the software or anything else.Sorry if any of this is unclear. I just want to try and point people in the right direction since the actual process has already been explained by others.Good luck!

DOES NOT WORK on the Ford Expedition (2010)
I bought this item a couple years ago, had it cut at a locksmith and programmed it myself - and it has been working absolutely perfectly. I bought it again in 2024 (2pack) thinking I was getting the exact same product that I knew and loved. WRONG. After having the keys cut, I couldn't get them to program. Neither the key turn method nor using the FORscan software worked to program these new keys. Looking at these newer keys - the chip is wrong. It was only then I noticed the string of recent bad reviews of this item and saw others were having problems. Someone mentioned that the new stock of the keys is not the same as what was sold previously. It makes sense. I returned these. Thanks to Amazon, I got my money back, but I am out the money I paid the locksmith. I was really bummed dealing with the hassle of all this, since my previous purchase of this item was great. Hopefully the seller will take notice and fix the issue.

Works just like the factory key
Ok, Guys Listen up 2007 to 2014 Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition, Ford F150, 250, 350, etc.YOU MUST HAVE TO KEYS TO PROGRAM THE THIRD IF YOU DON'T HAVE 2 WORKING KEYS FOR YOUR TRUCK YOU NEED TO TAKE IT TO YOUR DEALER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am doing this review for those that are saying that they could not program the key to start the car, and or program the keyfob.1 To program the key it's self to start the vehicle is one type of programming2 To program the keyfob to open and close the doors that is another type of programming. So don't mix it.1 To program the key itself you must have 2 working keys.Take the first working key insert it on to the ignition and turn it to on position all your lights should come on ( do not start the vehicle) look at the instrument cluster locate the anti-theft icon andit will illuminate for a second or two then it will disappear after the light goes out take out the key, insert the second working key wait till the light goes out take out the key, then insert the new key wait till the light goes out take the key out and you are done all 3 key should be working.2 To program the keyfob itself open the door unlock the vehicle with the unlock button on the door leave the door open insert any working key into the ignition and turn it to the on position and back to the off position 8 times do not start the vehicle after you do this 8 time you should here the doors locks open this will indicate that your vehicle is in programming mode now press the lock button and the unlock button on all 3 keys one by one it should be closing and opening the door locks then take your key out of the ignition and you are done.I hope this helps .
