Q: can you purchase additional shelves and if so where?

I have not looked for additional shelves. This is pretty big as it is, you won’t be disappointed.

Q: Is this suitable for a ferret?

You can’t be serious. A hamster can’t even fit in this.

Q: Will this work well for a dwarf hamster?

I have a dwarf hamster in mine but if I purchased another I would stick with habitrail. This one is horrible to put together every time you clean it.

Q: Will this work for ferrets or would they get stuck in the tunnels??

This cage is WAY too small for ferrets. It was barely big enough for my hamster, who had to squeeze through the tunnels and got stuck in the window of the little house several times.
