Not a tight fit and really over-priced
This review is for the VIVOCH 50 Pcs Cat6 Cat6A Cat7 Strain Relief Boot, RJ45 Plug Connector Cover Modular Network Plug Connector Cap Cable Connector Boots, Red (Red)£15.99 at the time of review. These look exactly like they do in the advert and they do the job they should do, but I have enough issues that stop me giving them top rating.• The hole is 7mm wide (not 7.5mm as advertised) and although this allow a Cat6 cable to slide thorough it easily, it doesn’t grip the cable to stop it sliding out.• The slots on the underside are supposed to grip the matching bars on the RJ45 plug, but they don’t grip well enough and it is too easy to pull the boot off.• The release is only partially moulded into the boot, and I would worry that over time, it would snap off (although I admit it would take some time to do this).• I bought 100 boots for the same price a few months back and they are a better fit and tighter on the cable too.All in all then, really over-priced and although they work, they aren’t secure enough for a lot of plugging and unplugging. 3 stars from me, mainly due to the huge price hike, and I would strongly suggest shopping around.
