Simon & Schuster Mega Crossword Puzzle Book #14 (14) (S&S Mega Crossword Puzzles) Paperback – September 30, 2014

I purchased this for my father as a Christmas gift, who is an avid lover of crossword puzzles. He enjoys crosswords that have a higher level of challenge and this was perfect! While searching for a book to get for him, it was important to me that I find one with enough content to keep him busy for a while - as he tends to go through them very quickly, as well as trying to avoid a book with puzzles he might have already done in the past.I have since purchased quite a few of the Simon & Schuster crossword puzzle books for him, and they always deliver! He has never been disappointed and often comments on how much he enjoys them! The larger print is great for him, and the variety in the range of difficulty is fantastic! If you are debating on the quality of these crosswords I can honestly say that I highly recommend this and other crossword puzzle books from Simon & Schuster!

These crossword books contain medium to difficult puzzles. None are super easy. I'm quite experienced at crosswords but still sometimes need to peek at an answer to solve one.

Another successful addition to my S&S crosswords collection. Each one is different and challenges your memory and vocabulary. I consider them an effective daily exercise for my brain.

I have loved crosswords since I was in 9th grade and hopelessly bored in English class where, incidentally, we also got the LA Times delivered daily. I am no Sunday-er but I can get through Thursday in the LA Times with only a few trips to the crossword dictionary. New York Times? Thats another story. Mondays are even a bit too hard still.With that being said, I find these puzzles to be adequately challenging while still being fun. I like that they vary in size and that they can be easily torn out to take with me. Also, the clues are fairly relevant with some pop culture references. This book will keep me puzzling for at least the year to come and I would definitely consider buying another edition to keep my brain sharp.

It's a huge book, for sure and only have one puzzle done so far. Nice that you can tear them out and just take a few with you at a time for travel.The first one I did was not difficult, but it was not super easy, either. No complaints so far!

For serious puzzle-solvers, a lot of these will seem too easy...but they serve a purpose: if you have places where you need something to keep your mind busy while you wait, take a few of these. Perfect and far better than staring at your phone.

I am used to doing a local daily paper's puzzle. This puzzle book is more challenging because it does not indicate if the answer is multiple words or if it is just a long word. Most blocks are multiple words. It is probably good for good solvers, but it was not as fun for me.Perforated pages are great for taking some on the go, but answers are all in the back of the book and printed small (20 puzzles per sheet), so you have to match the correct pages if you want to check the solutions while traveling. I would have preferred having the answer sheet after every 4 puzzles or so, in large print.
