Durvet3 Bottles of Chlorhexidine Solution, 16 Ounces Each, for Cleaning Superficial Wounds on Dogs and Horses

Significantly cheaper than that little bottle the vet sells me. You don't need much. About a teaspoon in a half gallon to 1 gallon. I use it to clean/soak the dog's foot when she gets some kind of infection that makes her want to chew the bottom of her foot. Once I towel it dry, I spray a bit of Bitter Apple in there to keep her away from it. Works well. Twice a day for a few days usually clears things up.

My vet suggested that I put a couple tablespoons of this solution into a pan of water and have my Yorkie sit in the solution for 10 minutes each day to help cure the itchy paws that he gets from walking outside on the grass. It’s worked wonders in the past so I’m starting back. 10 minutes each day will cure this problem. Works better than anything else!

Got my dogs cut clean! And healed in a couple weeks !!

This Chlorhexidine is a 2% solution, and I have been using it DILUTED 1/10 - 1/15, as a dental rinse for my older dog, whose oral hygeine gets harder every year, it seems. It is supposed to be about .12%... that's POINT, as in diluted. It has made a huge difference...I also swab a little along my beardie's tightly clenched lips to keep his oral health up and avoid mouth rot.

chlorahexadine is a wonderful wound cleanser without the sting of rubbing alcholol. i use it for myself cuts and scrapes and for my pets. Must dilute as 2% is very strong!!! Vets and ranchers likely use this, but i dilute to about 5ml/1 teaspoon per 1 gallon of tap water and it seems okay.
