Genuine Mac Allister MPRM 46SP Lawnmower 46cm Mulching Blade Part No.181004460/0

My MacAlister mower is now cutting better than ever. It turns out that the original blade was fitted upside-down, so it never threw the grass into the hopper very well. Now I've replaced it, and fitted it the right way up, the hopper fills so much better, and the grass is cut well too.

Replace old mower blade. Received today, easy fit, cuts fine.

The blade was similar to the MacAllister blade it replaced. Not as thick and not and exact match in blade profile. However the blade provided a fine cut to the grass. Happy, time will tell how it will perform at the end of they years.At this price point the blade can be replaced instead of sharpened.

Our old blade literally rotted onto the grass in the middle of a mow and this was the only replacement part I could find. Unfortunately it didn't have the same boring holes as a genuine macallister so didn't fit securely and vibrated instead of cutting. We filed down the nubs on the machines that are used to hold the genuine blades and this now fits securely enough to use.

We got this for our lawnmower and it worked perfectly we now have great cut grass and the blade worked really well so now we have flat grass as our mower blades were too blunt to use so this worked miracles.

The description says it is compatible with MLMP550P46 mower, it's not. As you can see in the pictures the original blade has the correct part number on and the large hole in the middle is too small to accept the 2 lugs on the washer that locates into the drive spindle. and the recessed part on the new blade doesn't let the big holding washer to seat properly so would make the blade unstable, also not as thick as the original. Not the correct description so am sending it back.

Simply not the blade advertised and demonstrated via images shown on Amazon UK. Completely different fixing hole positions than original and a lower quality blade manufactured from much thinner press steel, rather than forged thicker blade original supplied with mower. Therefore neither the weight nor the longevity of usage of the original blade. Why do retailers do this sort of thing? Really is disappointing.

Made my old mower work like new again. Will not leave it so long next time before changing the blade. Marked difference in the quality of cut on the lawn.
