I was scheduled to ride in a horse clinic for a weekend with temps to be near 100. I am a senior and can't handle the heat well. I have had evaporative vests before and they are ok, not great and they wear out, losing their cooling. This vest did a darn good job for me, for the price. The ice packs stayed cool for hours. It looked funny to have lumps on my back but was worth it. I am small and took took it in a bit but no big deal. It was worth buying even if just for the one weekend. The extra ice packs are nice as well and so are the carrying cases.

My partner woks outside all day. They love it along with a cooling fan and it makes their day so much better. I am glad she likes it! It fits well. The 8 ice packs that it comes with lasts a total of 6 hours. You have to replace them after 3 hrs.

This vest is an interesting purchase. I purchased it to work outside in the Texas summer heat and, while it will not keep you chilled, it will take the edge off of the heat. Without the vest I can feel the heat pouring off, but with the vest on I feel hot , but I don't feel the hear radiating like I did before.

I had purchased the older version of this cooling vest a few years ago which seemed to work, however, the chest vest had some stitching issues that was not very good, and it was way too late to return it for an exchange or refund. So years later I saw that this same company had improved the design of their cooling vest with a different chest vest material instead of the mesh material used in their earlier version. I could see the areas of other improvements with different cooling paks. So I purchased their redesigned cooling vest. This summer I had a chance to tried the redesigned cooling vest. The first time I used the vest it was a bit annoying trying to get the redesigned ice paks in the vest interior pockets, especially if you fill them with too much water during the freezing phase. I wore the vest over a cooling type T-shirt while during yard work. During my yard work I noticed that I could barely feel the coolness from the ice paks. So, the second time I had to do mowing in the heat I wore the cooling vest in direct contact with my body with a cooling type T-shirt over it. Once again I could barely feel the coldness of the ice paks through the vest pockets that hold them. So I gave this vest a third and fourth try, but I never really felt the coldness of the ice paks when I wore the cooling vest against my skin with a T-shirt over the vest. I would not recommend this product because I never felt the coldness of the ice paks through the pocket material of the cooling vest. The vests are priced rather high.

I am so heat intolerant I cannot cook or take a hot shower and I live in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. This vest has been a BLESSING. it’s adjustable so I am able to take my dogs for a walk, go bike riding with my husband. Just being able to go outside again is such a blessing. I Carry the extra ice packs with me if I’m going to be away for an extended period the lunch box type carrier is great.

I could not get the icepacks to fill with water from any of the water spigots in my home. Renders the vest useless.

First impressions…will update when I actually wear and use it. I tried it on without the ice packs to see if it would even fit me.1. The vest itself is one size and tiny on my body. I didn’t realize it would be one size. The width is about 9inches and length is 16.5inches and a few inches longer in the back.2. The pockets for the ice packs are smaller than expected. They measure 8in by 4.75in. They also appear to be two pocket in one to maybe place two ice packs? I’m not sure because one of them might fall out. I was hoping to use some of my own ice packs. But they won’t fit.3. The fillable ice packs are strange…A. The opening to fill them is tiny. I have no idea how they close and seal up but they do.B. I’m unsure if it’s just a one time fill deal or what because once I filled them I cannot figure out how to open them again. If I return it, I’m unsure how to get it back to original condition.C. I used a straw stuck down in the hole to fill them better because initially the water wasn’t going into the pack. But when i filled it enough I guess I messed something up because the pack is fatter than the others. Like it’s fully of air.D. So far the ice packs have not gotten hard and they’ve been in the freezer for about 8 hours. Prior to buying it I did wonder how the ice vest would be “comfortable” with hard/sharp ice packs.4. I’m an XXL and I have it adjusted to the biggest it can go and it’s a little snug.I’m using this because I have a heat intolerance and I’m hoping it will help my symptoms related to being in the heat. I will report back but whether it helps or not doesn’t really change my review or would possibly help someone since we are all in different bodies.I wore this outside and it is not cooling enough. I tried it in between a tank and shirt and also over my bra directly on skin. It’s really strange that the ice is somewhat cold out of the freezer but not cold on my body. I don’t know if I’m just too fat for it to be effective or what. I have POTS so I guess I’d need lots of ice to cool me down.
