Q: Can this be mixed into food?

Its certainly not intended as a food additive. I strongly believe that mixing with food would just waste it. Try looking for medicated fish food. Can be found online, good luck.

Q: How much do i use for 3 gallons? help? i can't figure out what to dose the tank? it only says 1 scoop per 10 gallons?

A third of a scoop, as close as you can get it. I might go with half a scoop.

Q: Is this basically a powder alternative to ParaGuard? Also, does it contain metronidazole like MetroPlex?

It does not contain metronidizole and it is used differently than Metroplex. Active ingredients are sulphathiazole, malachite green, nitrofurintoin, and quinacrine dihydrochloride. It is a powder that I mix in a glass tea light cup with water from the aquarium from the betta I am treating. It's recommended to use with a new betta as an effective treatment and safeguard against prevalent bacterial, fungal, and parasitic diseases. I use it as a first treatment if I see something off in how one of my (many) bettas is swimming, like clamped fins. Or in addition to a more aggressive treatment with a floundering betta like I had recently. I mix Metroplex with Kanoplex (all powders) in the food and add Focus that helps the medicine stick to the food in a kind of paste. I feed frozen/thawed food so being wet helps it mix well. I've found ingested medicine is the most effective. Hope this helps.
