A good little stocking filler!
True to the original story, this simplified version is well illustrated and attractive suitable for reading aloud to and sharing with younger children who are interested in life in Victorian times. With not too many words to a page, it will appeal to children who are improving their reading ability and are seeking interesting and independent reading material.

Excellent resoucrce for young children
I bought this as a teacher for my primary class. It is perfect for a precis of the original classic. I also bought the one by Gill Taverner but this had important parts of the story missing. This is much better and you can work with it and one of the many films. Well illustarted too.

My 10yo, who hates reading, loved it!
My son is 10 but we have always struggled with his readings. I usedto think that he didnt understand the meaning of words in sentences. Turns out he was just lazy, and used to read without even paying attention to a story. With this very tiny book (too short, would have loved a slightly longer version) he read it in two days and wanted to tell me what the story was about. He enjoyed it also because the fonts were large, there were pictures and the book seemed small and easy to finish ;)

Great!
The illustrations and text are so engaging and it’s fab for bedtime story. Really good use of vocabulary. There were some nice points to discuss about the story. We love Usborne books they are the best. The page marker is handy and adds a nice touch to the book.

Easy Dickens
A good book which tells the story in an easy way for young readers. It is not too "wordy" but my granddaughter (6 and a half yrs) found it to be a bit of a challenge but did enjoy reading it.
