JIS is different from Philips.
If you drive a Japanese car or ride a Japanese bike, I assure you, there is not one single Phillips head fastener anywhere to be found. They are all JIS. And while a JIS screwdriver works perfectly fine in a Phillips screw, Phillips screwdrivers don't really work all that well in a JIS screw. So get the correct bit, which these are.

Needed in your tool kit!
Just what I needed to fit the JIS screws that are provided with many of the Asian products. Phillips just do not fit the JIS type screw but the JIS will fit Phillips just fine.

JIS screws are not the same as Phillips
These are the proper Japan Industrial Standard (JIS) screwdriver tips you need if you are working on a classic Japanese motorcycle or car. Many people incorrectly see the + and assume they are Phillips. Unfortunately they are not the same. Phillips screws are designed to "cam out" beyond a certain torque, so using a Phillip screwdriver on a JIS screw can result in a stripped head. How can you tell the difference? On a JIS screw head, below the + there is a raised dot, indicating that the screw is made to JIS standards. Or just know that if you are working on a '70s Japanese vehicle to use these and leave the Phillips in the toolbox. It really does matter...a LOT!!

Fits my Super Cub well
I may be picky but I don't want to risk stripping a head on a screw. These have a permanent place in my go to tool kit

The right bits for Japanese JIS screws
This set is very helpful if you have a Japanese motorcycle that uses JIS screws. The JIS screws are slightly different from you normal Phillips screws. These bits fit the JIS depression better and make screw removal easier and less likely to damage the screw head.

The screw driver to use
Awesome… JIS drivers are the way to go, even with standard Phillipshead screws.
