Recently floored loft, is 10mm boarding suitable for fixing rail to?

When I loft was boarded I bought a metal handrail online, with its photos of use at top of loft ladder, & it was screwed into the lower wood adjacent to the wood that surrounds the top of the loft ladder opening: it was not screwed into the floor boarding. We've been using the opening occasionally & always the metal hand rail & no signs at all of loosening.

In the production dimensions, it says 41.73 x 24.03 x 7.01 cm. Does it mean it is 40cm high, 24cm wide? Is it half as short as the black one (1 metre)

The size is not right in your picture 😏mine is 90 cm high and 54cm between the two plates.I am very pleased with it and I makes it much easier to get into my loft 😊Hope this is of use to you
