Sounds amazing, easy to accommodate
I'm a big Hi-Fi guy. I don't have any problems putting up big speakers and other equipment as a focal point in a room for the sake of good sound. My wife on the other hand has a completely opposite idea of aesthetics and form-over-function. So when she decided that she wanted a turntable in our living room for personal use and entertaining purposes, I knew it was going to be a challenge to get our worlds to align. I was trying to sell her on some high end bookshelf speakers and a small amp, but she isn't about being able to see any wires at all. I didn't want to shove something into the cabinet that the turntable was sitting on because it would sound terrible. I'm very glad I found the Spinbase. It's small and inconspicuous enough that she was more than happy to sign off on it, and the fidelity is more than respectable given its footprint. Bonus points for it being as easy to use as it gets, with only the volume knob with an on/off detent. The sound is robust and room-filling, and there is zero preamp noise. I fired it up recently when I had some friends over who also appreciate Hi-Fi and they were as impressed as I was. One of them even ordered one for himself I think. Is it high-end listening room euphoric? Not quite. But is it impressive and satisfying living room sound, with good clarity and dynamics? Absolutely. And it costs less than what most good small speakers and a separate amp and preamp would cost you, in both money and space. A superb value. Also, their customer service is top-notch. I was getting weird noises through mine when I first turned it on. I sent a message to their customer care and had a reply back very quickly advising me to move it further away from my router. Worked great. I highly recommend this as a compact and sexy alternative to a full stereo system if you're cramped for space or battling over style.

Good quality sound and works perfectly with a turntable, first class customer support
Delivered on time. Simple setup out of the box and easily connects to any Bluetooth device. Had an issue with Ground Loop Hum when connecting my Dual CS529, customer support on email was very responsive and it was not the Spinbase 2, it was my turntable - all fixed and working fast with good and easy to understand advice.Turntable sits on top with no vibration affecting it. Sound is fantastic!

Simple and amazing. READ THIS REVIEW.
Over the last few years, I decided to ditch all the big, bulky sound systems and stereo equipment. I am tired of running wires and having speakers everywhere. For the TVs in my house, I went with soundbars - simple and small, yet capable of amazing sound. …so, what to do about the record player?I wanted something that 1.) had a small footprint, 2.) was not required to be connected via wifi, and 3.) sounded great. Then, I came across the Andover Audio Spinbase. I read the specs and the marketing jargon. I read reviews… but I still wasn’t convinced. I thought that a small unit like this would never sound good, especially without an external subwoofer. I was wrong. This thing is amazing.PLEASE NOTE: if you are looking to fill a large space with the highest quality sound or if you’re a total audiophile, this might not be the solution you are looking for. But if you want something that looks clean and understated, puts out sound above its weight class, and is a dedicated device for your turntable, this is it.Knobs on the back allow you to adjust the treble and bass, and one simple knob on the front turns it on and adjusts volume. Simple.I cannot believe the low end that this speaker is capable of producing. No external subwoofer required. Think if it as a “Bose for your record player.”It seems like everything now-a-days needs a wifi connection or bluetooth; that’s great for a lot of things, but the Spinbase is designed for one purpose: playing music from your turntable. That’s it. No updates, no connection issues. Plug it in and drop the needle… the way records were meant to be enjoyed. If you’re on the fence, BUY IT.

Good value but some quality issues (Updated 2/1/22)
Update: Andover customer service replied quickly and confirmed that I may have a faulty unit. They encouraged me to exchange it. The new one works great!I want to love the Andover Audio Spinbase. The price, simplicity to operate, sound quality, and design are really good. However, there are some quality issues can't be ignored. Upon opening the package and inspecting the device, I noticed that a couple of corners of the perforated metal surround are a bit bent and don't fit completely flush. Not a deal breaker since they are on the back edge, but still some attention to detail that bothers me.As for the things that don't seem right - the volume dial starts at medium loudness at the 10 o'clock On position and quickly jumps to loud with the most minor of dial turns. This seems defective as there is no nuance in volume adjustment. Would appreciate to know if this is by design or if I got aa faulty unit. The other issue I've recently started experiencing is that my iPhone 11 Pro bluetooth cuts out when only 6 feet away from the Spinbase. Worked great when I got it so I'm not sure why the performance has degraded.

Great sound, small footprint.
If you’re looking to fill a room with sound, but not audio equipment, this is the speaker for you. It is specifically designed for turntables and fits perfectly below most standard record players (in my case, an Audio-Technica LP120). You have the option to use the built in pre-amp or a direct line-in if your turntable already has one. I placed mine neatly on top of an IKEA Eket 4 cube cabinet (holds around 200 records). Now I have a setup that can fill the entire apartment with sound, but only take up about 30x40 inches of space. The sound is crisp and clear - just make sure you’ve configured everything correctly with the settings in the back. Build quality is good, though mine came with a slight bend in the metal speaker grill, which extends around the sides and front of the unit. I can confirm the volume knob isn’t very precise: there’s no volume until it is turned to about 10 o’clock, then it’s super loud by 12 o’clock (I haven’t really tested beyond that). After all is said and done, however, I love this setup and I love the sound!
