Rock solid guitar stand
The media could not be loaded. Please read my whole honest review.Upon my unboxing of the Starfish+ I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be for a couple reasons, and I had thoughts about returning it right away. However, I gave it some time and the concern's I had were resolved to my satisfaction (And I'm very picky).Let's start with what the concerns I had upon the unboxed; The first concerned issue I had was with the closing mechanism for the neck of the guitar. Upon unboxing and testing the mechanical motion of the locking neck holder with my hand, it wasn't a very smooth operation at all as it would frequently bind up if not perfectly centered on it when applying pressure to activate it. However, after testing it with an actual guitar, I now recognize it moves smooth as butter without any indication of any binding up. I'm not concerned at all about this issue any more, but I wanted you to at least be aware of it.The second issue I had after unboxing it was with a piece around the main post which was completely loose and just floating/sliding around on the shaft. Clearly a quality control oversight. After looking more closely, I can tell where this piece should be attached, and with a good deal of pressure I was able to firmly press fit it into its proper position. Again, as with the first issue I'm not at all concerned about this now that it's secured, but you deserve to informed about it.Both of these issues can be seen in my photos and video. However, I strongly suggest you continue to read and don't hold my initial discoveries against the Starfish+.After taking the Starfish+ to my music room and press fitting the lose piece back into its proper position, I started testing the locking neck mechanism with actual guitars and quickly realized how smooth the locking mechanism actually works with a guitar. There's no binding and it operates smooth as warm butter. While during my unboxing, I wasn't as impressed as I had thought I would be, but now that everything has been resolved, I'm completely satisfied. The build of the Starfish+ is extremely heavy duty, and I have no concerns about it breaking or bending at all. And the stability of the Starfish+ guitar stand is in a realm of it's own, way more stable than anything else I've tried. I honestly cannot describe in words how incredibly super stable this guitar stand is, let alone how durable it is.That said, bear in mind that with the incredible durability and heavy duty build of the Starfish+, it inevitably is heavier than any other stands I've tried. Personally, I don't see that as a negative and see it as a positive attribute because the added weight contributes to better stability. When it comes to protecting your expensive guitar, this stand has no compromises, and you shouldn't compromise in protecting you guitar.Aside from a minor quality control issue, I would say the only minor negative attribute with this stand in comparison to other locking guitar stands would be the fact the locking mechanism is noisier. That said, it's not an issue with me because when I'm performing it only makes noise when removing and inserting a guitar, and it's really not that intrusive. In fact, it's kind of grown on me because when I hear it I know it's locked in secure. If you're looking for a super heavy duty and highly stable guitar stand, I highly recommend you get the Starfish+. If you don't want the noise of the locking mechanism, you can always settle for the regular Starfish and still have the most durable and the most stable guitar stand available.

Hands down the best guitar stand
I now own 4 of these. You cannot tip them over. I mean seriously....if you intend to knock them over they will fall. Otherwise, they will not tip over. Extremely stable. The costs reflects the quality.

STABLE guitar stand
Arrived on time, I noticed one of the padded legs were longer than the other one, tried to adjust but couldn’t , it doesn’t appear to affect the way it stands so I guess all good. Be cautious about extending the neck all the way up, if you do your guitar could rest against no padded area.just experiment first . Otherwise great stand, nice padded area and there is a twisty tie that hold the automatic clamp that needs to be removed , at first you will see the clamp is closed , just a heads up.
