For 9-year old Sheldon Cooper it isn't easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in a land where church and football are king and while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. His father, George, is struggling to find his way as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn't understand. Sheldon's mother, Mary, fiercely protects and nurtures her son in a town where he just doesn't fit in. Sheldon's older brother, Georgie, does the best he can in high school, but it's tough to be cool when you're in the same classes with your odd 9-year-old brother. Finally, there's Sheldon's twin sister, Missy, who sometimes resents all the attention Sheldon gets, but also remains the one person who can reliably tell Sheldon the truth. For 10 years on The Big Bang Theory, audiences have come to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. This single-camera, half-hour comedy gives us the chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become.

Howl With Laughter
As a longtime fan of TBBT, I wasn't sure how going back to Sheldon's childhood would work out & whether it would be worth watching, but I thought "hey, give it a try." Saw the first episode & immediately bought the first three series. Was it worth it : I'm still laughing my socks off.Anyone who enjoyed TBBT will LOVE this.Stories are great and so are the interactions between the various cast members.Howl With Laughter, I did (and still am).

oh yes
quite simply the funniest show ive ever seen, though being asd myself perhaps I'm biased and perhaps i see too much of my childhood in it . Who knows ? Who cares ? Had i been identified as asd at school i would have ended up in the class for those unfortunate not to be too bright and fared far worse than i did . I still find using capitals a bit of a faff .

Delicious series
Hilarious typical American life depicting series. Marvellous good-playing actors with a specific mention for Iain Armitage (Sheldon), who is an impressive very credible young actor in this role of a very special kid.

better than BBT
i love the big bang theory and i honestly thought that this would not be as good, i have to say i think this is better, yes there are a few things that are not in line with BBT but i watch it to be entertain and that it does. missy is so funny more so than sheldon. i also love that the father is a different character then the one you hear about on BBT he to me is a better parent than mary.

Sheldon Begins
Young child genius Sheldon Cooper struggles with growing up in 80's Texas. Spin off from comedy series The Big Bang Theory which was full of cliched stereotype geek characters but still enjoyable and amusing. It would probably help if you have seen The Big Bang Theory though not essential as this is about the child version of lead Big Bang Theory genius Sheldon Cooper and while I can't see this series lasting as long it is amusing with a likeable cast and Iain Armitage is a dead ringer for a young Sheldon while adult Sheldon Jim Parsons narrates and it is all pretty much his show with a very good supporting cast. Not quite a comedy classic but an amusing and enjoyable comedy series with plenty of 80's nostalgia.

A great show
As Big Bang fans, it was only natural that we would get into watching Young Sheldon. Different but just as good. We've really enjoyed watching the series and are now on our third time round. Would recommend

Not your usual 'spin off'
This really is a must for any 'Big Bang Theory' enthusiast. It has been produced with real care, the writing and cast are exceptional, you really do instantly believe that you are looking at a 'young Sheldon'.Whilst BBT fans are treated to a constant stream of 'in jokes', this series really does stand alone as a brilliantly clever and heartwarming piece of entertainment.Well worth the bargain price.

Stands on its own feet.
I am a fan of The big bang theory but that is not important, as this stands on its own feet. It has a different feel as it does not have a studio audience laughing every few seconds and a wider approach to the filming. The whole family are well cast but the kids are the stars. Very funny and enjoyable
