Tidings of Joy Fabric Advent Calendar (Countdown to Christmas)

My family and I love this beautiful calendar! Wonderful, craftsmanship, and excellent detail. Those pieces are a lovely addition to our Christmas advent traditions!

My young grandsons and their parents love this advent calendar. It gives them opportunity to tell the Christmas story in small snatches daily - not too much for a 3-year-old and a 10-month-old at one time. They loved putting the characters on the scene and seeing the full picture on Christmas Day. This calendar is very well-made and will last many years. They will probably enjoy using it with their own children in the future!

We had a similar one when my daughter was little, but she took it with her when she moved out. I missed it so much I got this one, and I could not be happier! The background and pieces have beautiful embroidery, and I am enjoying watching my Nativity scene grow each day. I especially like the little cat, since I have cats :-) This is my first year with it, so I can't really speak to longevity, but it seems very well made and I am sure I will enjoy it for years to come.

Over all, it's a very cute countdown calenders. I would buy it again. It's the perfect size, easy to hang. The calendar itself has some "pillow ish" thickness to it, and so do the items, making them very cute and soft. The picture itself is really nice. But if you are a perfectionist, there are some tiny flaws in the stitching. You'll see in the pictures that there are some loose strings (easy to trim), and some 'run off' strings where one line of stitching is attached to the next. The velco on the calendar is securely stitched on, but not so much on the items. It almost looks hand stitched, and one of my guy's velco looks like it might come loose soon with a lot of handling. None of these things bother me, but I knocked off a star for it. All of it is easily fixed with some small scissors and maybe thread if the velco comes off. My kids love it. Should last for years.

This is a well made product which will help youngsters to know and understand the days of Advent. I highly recommend it for all ages.

My 3 year old loves this calendar. All of the critters/people seem to be made well. No velcro is visibly coming off as some other reviewers had noted. Appears sturdy for at least a few years of use. The only down side is the pockets are a little small. We put each critter in a pocket, a scripture verse, and a piece of chocolate in and some of the pieces have trouble staying in the pocket based on the size of the critter/person for that particular day.
