Easy to use guide to setting up an e-commerce presence for small business (or big)
This book is easy to understand! For those of us who are not gifted in working our way through computer software and setting up things like websites but who run small businesses, this book is a big help. There is only so much time in a day and any book intended to explain how to use something needs to be clear, easy to understand and straight to the point. That describes Selling on Shopify. The chapters make sense, cover options other than Shopify for a small business that wants an online e-commerce presence, and explains the pros and cons of each. The author also explains options for creating an online store on Shopify using outside vendors and programmers.A useful, easy to use book.

Great quality writing
I have read several books on this topic and this book was by far the best. To start with, the information went into greater detail than any other book I have read. Also, the writing style was excellent. Though I did notice a few typos and grammatical issues, there were not a lot. Most of the other ebooks I have read had so many grammatical errors that it became annoying and just seemed thrown together quickly. I could tell that this author knew his subject well and put in the time and effort to deliver a quality book.

Good introduction to shopify
I read this book when I was introduced to Shopify for a new job over a year ago. It helped me get my bearings. I just re-read some of the marketing tips, which are not extensive, but instead are basic. The MailChimp suggestions will help me get more out of the email, but generally appreciated this book to get started with the platform. I only had a brief introduction to ecommerce previously, but no practical experience. Very helpful.

Out of date and understates alternatives
Dated material. Costs are vastly higher than stated in the book. Comparison to creating your own site understates how much cheaper it is to host a website than to pay Shopify or how easy it is to create a WordPress site of your own. It is unclear if new Shopify marketing features work at all, but from a marketing perspective, you are really on your own. It is unclear how any customer would find your website to purchase items. At $29 a month they give you facebook and twitter access but they do not drive customers your way. An EBAY store costs $19.99 a month or less and they direct customers to your items. Essentially, Shopify is a glorified web hosting site that is capable of offering you a mechanism for payment, but you could just use Paypal. Fees are not much different. The fact the costs are significantly understated and the grandiose presentation of shopify without decent comparisons to alternatives makes this book mostly fluff. The fact it is out of date makes it likely quite useless even to the beginner.

It's okay if you have no prior knowledge
It's okay if you have little knowledge already. I wasn't expecting for first few chapters to be about other selling platforms, that's not why I had gotten this book. The information in here needs updating. Even ebay, amazon and etsy all have listing fees on top of transaction fees; ebay only offers a small amount of free listings per month before the listing fees kick in. You mentioned none of that in your section on third party marketplaces.Everything in here, you can learn by just playing around with shopify and looking through each section. In your themes section, you don't even mention if there's an easier way to switch your current theme over to a different one without having to rebuild the store within the new theme. Some of the shopify info is no longer correct, the pricings are a little off with some of them and it needs some photos to clearly show what you're talking about. Assuming that the reader hasn't yet played with shopify, almost everything in here will have them lost. The book also needs some editing, you're repeating phrases unnecessarily, the same sentence shouldn't be repeating itself 3 different times.

Everything you need to know on selling via shopify.
This book did what it said, selling on shopify. Solid details on setup shopify store, beginners can follow step by step guidelines easily. Inside the book mentioned on listing products and FBA on amazon. However, there is Only one things that i would suggest author to improve is to insert some pictures for each step that you are teaching. All in all, many useful details but lack of picture.

This is a great book for those that are looking to get started ...
This is a great book for those that are looking to get started on Shopify. It breaks down the process in very simple steps for those that are beginners at this whole world of selling online. I know that much of this is available on the Shopify site, but for the price of this book, it is very handy to have in one concise book. It is great to be able to study the steps without needing to turn on my computer every time I want to learn more.

it depends on YOU....
Excellent for: Beginners & those considering or planning to use Shopify but do not already have an account.Great for: Shopify subscribers who are in the process of "set-up" or those who are new to Ecommerce in general.Ok for: Those researching new ideas to improve existing Shopify online stores.Decent for: Bathroom reading material (advanced Shopify users).Poor for: Those with existing knowledge in programming language or web developers.----------Bottom line- it all depends on what level of information is needed. Otherwise this is a very basic "how-to" (which the majority of info presented in the book can be found within Shopify's own blog and/or help sections).
