Great sound quality
Nice sleek design with great sound quality giving you the option of a freestanding radio as well as a bluetooth speaker. Found it very easy to connect to my phone but do also really like that I can connect external devices directly to it via relevant cables. Like that it has a remote which made it much easier to control as had set up on one side of my yard for a party and I was sitting over the other side so didn't have to keep getting up and its also great for outdoors as can run off both main power but can be charged up to run off internal battery.

looks good and sounds good
I ordered this specifically for the radio feature. Call me old school but I don’t always like to Bluetooth all of my music and enjoy listening to the radio. It looks nice too with the premium touch. The sound quality is good and even better with Bluetooth. It can get pretty loud which my kids love when they want to have a dance party. The sound output is way better than our Bluetooth speaker we’ve used previously. Highly recommend!

Not certain of its intended market
I am not certain about the intended market for this wireless speaker. Technically, since it has Bluetooth capability, it is wireless. Nevertheless, it is powered like an old boombox, intended to be plugged in. It lacks audiophile sound, unless you adjust the settings every time you turn it on, and, honestly, it seems better suited for talk radio than anything else. It's the kind of device your kids get into trouble with because they will run their music through Bluetooth and convince a cranky grandparent that they've broken it. I cannot say I am a fan of this device.

What happened to AIWA?
Sorry AIWA. I wanted to show some love to this new incantation of EXOS, but I just can't. What happened to AIWA? I've been buying their audio equipment for years. Like 25+ years. I've never had a single issue with AIWA branded items until now. I've worn out receivers and component systems and kept the speakers. They were that good. In fact I still use a set of AIWA speakers from 1997!The issue I have with this is the sound. It sounds absolutely dreadful out of the box. Very muffled and flat. The remedy is to press the TONE button on the remote and turn down the bass and turn up the treble. The range is -12 dB to +12dB for both the treble and bass. The only way I can stand to listen to this is by turning down the bass to -4 or -5. Anything above that and it distorts. The treble needs to be set to +10 to +12. I've tried different types of music on this to try and 'feather out' a sweet spot. Old country music like Shania is bass +2 and treble +10. If I switch to hard rock like RATT I have to turn it back down to -5 bass.Worst yet is that you have to RESET these settings each time you turn the device back on. So each time it powers off you lose the bass and treble settings. Perhaps a software update could fix this? This would benefit from presets like classic, rock, jazz, spoken word etc.Next issue is the low volume. The highest setting is 30. It's not as loud as most speakers I have that cost 1/2 to 1/4 as much.Last issue is the FM radio reception. The EXOS 5 comes with wire crimped to a RCA plug. You're supposed to unroll this wire and tack it to your wall. I got it to bring in exactly 1 radio station in my area. I review many items with FM receivers, this one is the weakest yet. I took it outside, connected a real telescoping antenna to the FM RCA plug and it pulled in 3 stations. None of them very well. This is meant to carry from one room to another via the built-in handle. It does have a Li-On rechargeable battery but you'll have to carry the antenna cord with you if you intend on listening to the radio.Bottom line is that I cannot recommend this offering from AIWA.

good speaker if you tweak
This wireless speaker is a home audio speaker to listen to music or radio. It's basically an alarm clock with better sound though it needs tweaking as it sounds a little flat by default. You can adjust the bass and treble to your liking like I like my music to have deep bass and high treble. I noticed that the bass and treble setting is not saved and you have to adjust it every time you turn it on and use. You can do this using the remote.Sound quality is good as long as you tweak it depends on the music type you're listening on.Build quality looks to be decent and it has a good weight. You can carry it around or station it wired to your room. It claims to play music for 6 hours continuously.Just to note, you can use the remote for operating the features and turning it off but it doesn't work to turn on the speaker as documented in the user manual.I find it a little off as to why it cannot be used to turn the power on. It's really not a big deal if you have the unit near you.Overall, it's a good wireless home audio speaker that has option to listen to radio. Some issues as noted if you're ok with the workaround.
