Not the easiest of items to seal
Purchased to replace a failed siphon valve in a one piece siphon unit I hope the less invasive design will make future maintenance easier.Getting an adequate seal is all but impossible without a generous application of silicon gasket to seal to the ceramic and PTFE tape to deal with the bowl connection.Neither are mentioned in the instructions.It all smacks of bodgery, but it seems that the previous professional operative that originally installed the failed valve found sealing the valve in the cistern body a challenging exercise.I do recommend the use of a good sharp knife and scraper to remove the previous sealer followed by a generous application of your favoured silicon gasket remover.Do this BEFORE you start the installation of the new valve.Good luck
