Very cool EDC flashlight, UI has steep learning curve. Extremely good value, overall. New favorite
I own several small flashlights that I use mainly while working on my car audio/electronics system in my garage. My night vision is also admittedly poor so I strongly prefer flashlights with a very low lumens setting so I can find my lost Juul at night while my wife is sleeping. My favorite flashlight up till now was the RovyVon Aurora A23, which is great because it is very compact, has a super low-lumens moonlight setting, has a tough body/shell, and is rechargeable with an onboard battery. But it takes a micro-USB charger and gets lost quite easily since it's small and shadow colored.I think this Wurkkos flashlight takes the top spot now. It's slightly longer than the A23, maybe by 5 centimeters, and roughly the same width. I got the red one, which is great because in addition to losing my shadow-colored Juul all the time, I now find myself constantly losing my small, shadow-colored flashlights. The red color is great because it's harder to lose. It also has a nice aluminum body which (so far) has not gotten scratched at all, despite sharing pocket-space with various screwdrivers, knives, whatever else. The light itself can be extremely bright (and hot) but by holding the button it transitions dimmer/brighter, so it can also get very dim. Critically, it "remembers" or reverts back to whatever was the last setting you had it on when you turn it on again. This is awesome, because I can click-hold and it goes to the dimmest level. Then I can turn it off, and next time I turn it on, it comes on at the dimmest setting I had before. Exactly what I was hoping for.If you want to use it "tactically," i.e., to blind someone suddenly, this may not be the best feature. But the workaround for that is to click twice and it comes on at the highest setting. The highest setting, I should note, emits significant amounts of heat.I have a few quibbles with it, one of them being that the UI is complicated as sh** to learn. But after getting lost and finding myself unable to even turn the thing off, I "factory reset" it back to the default settings and use it in "Simple Mode" and since then I've mostly gotten the hang of it. So, if you're looking for just, like, a basic on/off flashlight, you're going to want something else. But, being a tinkerer, I think it's neat that even friggen flashlights have operating systems nowadays, and it's cool that this unit has what appears to be a really advanced operating system with lots of features/functionality built-in that I can use if I ever learn how to and have such a desire.Another quibble was the battery aspect. This was the first time I'd ever interacted with a "14500" battery type. I can now tell you, after recently becoming an expert, they're exactly the size as an AA, but 14500's put out 3.7v instead of 1.5v and are usually lithium-ion rechargeable type. This was probably the biggest drawback of this flashlight. It does not come with a charger, nor does it have a charging port. The 14500 battery that it came with seems to do well, but I was very reluctant to use the flashlight, not having any means of recharging or replacing the battery once it was spent.I can also confidently say that 14500-type Li-ion batteries are not super common. Amazon had, maybe, 2 options that would arrive in a reasonable timeframe. So, I turned to a popular Auction/Buy It Now site and found a great deal for some 3.7v 14500 batteries, four batteries and two single-unit chargers, for like $10. Those arrived last night, and I now feel much more comfortable using the flashlight freely since I know I can recharge the batteries and pop in a fresh one whenever the need arises. So, there you have it. I think this is probably one of the best values you can find, flashlight-wise, but you have to be willing to learn some clicks/click-holds if you want to make full use of the flashlight, and you may also need to spend some extra bucks on replacement batteries/chargers for the odd 14500 battery-type this thing operates on.When I bought this unit, there were zero reviews, so I was kind of rolling the dice. But it's an excellent flashlight! Very high-quality construction and very nice, bright (and dim) light settings, with a few non-trivial downsides that, for the willing, would be easily overcome. I recommend buying it to those who own more than one flashlight already. For those who own only one flashlight, they probably wouldn't see the point of owning more than one flashlight, and this product is probably not for them. Peace.

A Top Level Flashlight!
This is an outstanding flashlight!Aside from this flashlight, I have two additional Wurkkos flashlights, and all three are built like a tank.I bought this flashlight primarily for the floodlight mode (as opposed to spotlight), and also for the lamp head that can be rotated from straight to perpendicular.o. The rotational movement of the lamp head is a thing of wonder. The head is mounted tightly to the flashlight, and there is no play in the rotational joint whatsoever. It takes a little bit of force to get it moving, but I know that it is not going to move by itself once I position it. As I rotate the head, the movement is so smooth as to be notable.o. The lamp head has two sets of LEDs. There is the spotlight LED in the center, and a ring of smaller LEDs around the periphery of the lamp head. The ring od smaller LEDs appears to be covered by a ring of frosted glass which diffuses the beam, and gives it more spread than the spotlight. The resulting beam is wide and diffuse, but not perfectly smooth across its total diameter, as I would expect if it had a TIR lens. However, the brightness across the beam diameter is just even enough that I can tolerate it.o. The magnetic tail is great, especially with the rotating head. I used it just last night after dark while inflating my vehicle's tires. I rotated the head to be perpendicular and attached it magnetically to the fender of the vehicle. This provided a perfect light for my work.Overall, I am very happy with this flashlight. If anyone at Wurkkos is listening, be advised that I hate reflectors for the uneven brightness of their beam, and I will not buy a flashlight that uses a reflector. The hot item these days appears to be long throw narrow beam flashlights. However, can we please have a flashlight with a TIR lens and a *broad beam* for those of us who need to navigate the inside of our house, garage, shed, barn, workshop, office, observatory, vehicle trunk, van interior, or even to explore our backyards at night to locate cats, dogs, opossums, etc?
