Good unit; take care to be able to feed it enough amps
Tested boiling a pot of water; worked just fine. A #8 nut was able to go on the connector bolts, though I imagine it's actually metric. 18-22AWG connector in my automotive kit fits, too, though that would be too thin of wire, but you can squeeze a larger connector (or just plain wire) with nuts as needed.Note you do need to be able to supply 300W at 12V. If your power source is limited to, say, 10A, you'll only be putting out a bit over 60W due to the voltage drop (that is, it'll consume 10A at ~6V, not 10A at 12V). Do also note the contacts get hot, especially if the heating element is not fully submerged, which may melt some cheaper types of wire insulation.A good, though fairly small, pre-made heating element for lower voltage, eliminating the inefficiencies of needing to run the heating element off an inverter, and opening up some unusual mobile and solar applications.
