Hi, because this oven comes from continental Europe, the plug supplied is a continental European one. What you need is an EU-to-UK adapter. (Or pay 1.5 times more for the UK-shipped Severin oven...) Hope that helps. :)

China, but made for the German market. They are very good though for the price.

Can you get extra shelves? Does it only come with one shelf?

One wire shelf and one solid shelf. Never tried to buy extra shelves, Never needed to.
