CARL Angel-5 Manual Pencil Sharpener with Metal Table Mount. Quiet for the Classroom, Home & Office, Red

As a teacher, I constantly have pupils needing to sharpen pencils and this has to be one of the most reliable sharpeners available. Had my last one for 7 years and only replacing it as a student dropped it and broke the handle. When using, the handle slackens a bit to let you know that the pencil is sharp and it seems to work every time.

I was tempted to go for the Caran Dache sharper at almost six times the price but this is just amazing. Not plastic but metal. Love it and sharpens my pencils to perfection.

Solid. Feels very good quality. All metal construction.I was eyeing up the Caran Dache sharpener that costs well over £100.Then I read a review from an artist that this one was as good if not better. So I thought why pay £100+ when I can try this one out. I didn’t regret my decision this is top drawer. I really like a long point on my pencils for drawing and this delivers.

I've got an electric pencil sharpener and several ordinary little hand-held ones, but although my other sharpeners are good, this one is my favourite. I've used it on Polychromos, Caran D'Ache Luminance, Albrecht Durer, and many regular sized pencils, and it sharpens them all to long-tipped sharp-point perfection. It's neat and compact and easy to use (though I did have to watch a YouTube vid to work out how to use it the first time!), and I'd hate to be witout it now.

I bought a helix rip off. But just didn't do the job.This is far far superior quality. All metal, super sturdy, and most importantly sharpens pencils, no fuss.Only one small gripe is when tips get broken inside, I had to pull the mechanism out and use a corkscrew to push out the lead that was stuck in it.

Wow. The sharpest pencils ever (mine and all the pencils the kids could find). Works well, especially once I had worked out I needed to pull out the support which then snaps back once you start to sharpen. Well worth the money, especially when you do a lot of on point work like I do. This keeps my lines crisp for much, much longer.

Disappointed as it just doesn’t sharpen pencils and there is no way of adjusting to make it hug the pencil properly

I am a secondary mathematics teacher and bought this for my classroom. Now all my students want to sharpen their pencils! Fantastic! Very pleased with it - diagrams looking SO much better......
