Year 2 Review. 100% recommended.
Reviewed after almost 2 years of use.Pros:- One of the few brand keyboards I found out there that has Cherry MX keys, and doesn't cost a fortune because of that.- The keys feel great, you can add different keycaps if you like.- Has a (customisable) lock mode to block certain keys when gaming.- Brightness is customisable as well. It comes with only one colour but I don't see it as a problem. It also has lighting effects through the iCUE app.- Has dedicated multimedia controls.- Never had a problem with it. I play mostly wired but wireless worked great as well.- The font looks like Terminator 2. The keyboard looks like out of Terminator 2.Cons?- Wireless/bluetooth connection requires a dongle (provided) and I couldn't find how to pair the keyboard without it. It's stable and fast though. Pet peeve of mine.- Battery is not that great, maybe 10/15 hours?

Value for money
Understandably, this keyboard might be a steep price for someone who is used to regular non-gaming keyboards. However, the moment i started to use this keyboard i immediately noticed the difference especially with the feedback and the responsiveness of the keys. If you ask me, short of throwing the keyboard to the wall for some reason, these are endgame keybooards for me now.

Pretty good all rounder but pairs amazing with the lapboard
Firstly if you are buying this with the lapboard it is a fantastic combo and seriously consider it. There's not much else out there. Which is the issue...(This is my first mechanical keyboard so im not an expert this is personal opinion.)Firstly the pros:- The build quality is great. Its super heavy so wont slide around on your desk. I was actually shocked how heavy it was!- The key cap texture is a really nice smooth matte plastic texture. There is almost no wobble at all.- The cherry red switches are great. If you can I would try all the switches out but I didn't have the luxury so I took a chance on red. They are really nice to use. The still make a nice tappy sound when they bottom out but no where near as annoying and clicky as the blues. I think they make my fingers less stiff when playing as well as it doesn't take much force to push them. If you are new to mechanical keyboards then I think most will like them.- Very responsive in wireless mode. Haven't had any issues so far.Cons- The lighting programs on it are really limited compared to other wired keyboards in corsairs range. I was disappointed I couldn't stack effects as I had some cool ideas with the lighting of my rig. Also wish they had an RGB version.- Limited to cherry MX Red switches. I kind of wanted to try the browns but as this is the only solution out there that can be both a desk keyboard and a lapboard I was limited on my options.- Price is a little high to be honest. Its a great quality build but I would have hoped for a little more for £120 like RGB, MX switch options and maybe some other nice features like an OLED. Other brands like steelseries manage this at a similar price range.Ultimately I bought this for the lapboard configuration and its basically the best out there. So if you are buying for that then look no further. It is a great keyboard and has a great build quality. However as a mechanical keyboard in its own right it leaves a few things to be desired and so I would think about going for a wired or another brand like SteelSeries or Logitech as I would have done if I didn't need the lapboard as well.

Still in use nowadays!
I just wished Corsair would have upgraded this setup by now! I bought this as a lapboard package and I am still using this now at times.

Great keyboard
very happy with this keyboard, feels sturdy and buttons are nice and clicky. the only downside for me is the lack of colour choices with the leds.

Great keyboard
Good wireless signal without noticable latency, love media control keys. Battery life isn't the best, but I use it with leds always on and I'm charging it every couple of days. Bought it with corsairs lap board and I love it.

None replaceable battery.
Let's cut to the chase. If you are going to be buying a keyboard for this amount of cash you are going to be wanting one that will last the distance. The K63 has 50 million actuation Cherry red keys, very nice. Robust, ergonomic case - nice. Well built, check. And you cannot swap the battery. At all. That's right - a £120 keyboard that after 2 years you either throw away, or you have to crack it open, possibly damaging it in the process. This is not good enough Corsair. This is planned obselescene. It's bad for the environment, it's bad for the consumer. Batteries wear out. We get that. But making it so you cannot change is is like selling a car that you cannot change the oil out of. There is no reason for it apart from your greed.I had the case apart. There is ZERO reasons, apart from Corsairs greed, that you cannot have a hatch in the bottom, and access to the battery case. No reason at all.Logitec tried this with the K800. That used to have a pair fo common cells, and a hatch underneath. New keyboard bought - that one had a sealed in lithium cell. Stupid. Lost me forever as a customer. Now Corsair pulling the same? Not buying anything from you guys again. It's a shame, as the rest of the keyboard is actually reasonably OK.
