Works great
Works great. A quick 20 minute change and my mower was back up and running. It's so much easier to just replace it every couple years than to take it apart and try to clean it (and hope it works after).

Carburator BAD out of the Box!
I purchased this carburetor in the hopes that it would eliminate the surging of the John Deere d105 garden tractor. I'm purchased this tractor pre-owned with less than 100 hours. My prior maintenance was I changed the oil, oil filter, spark plug, fuel filter, drained the existing fuel and replaced with alcohol-free 92 octane gasoline. I rebuilt the mower assembly added new blades, spindles, pulleys, belt. LED light bulbs and back up camera. However, I still continued to have a surging 17-1/2 hp engine until it reaches the point just before choke. I changed this carburetor out and it was identical to the OEM with one exception the OEM input gas tube was a 90° bend stainless tube. This carburetor had a straight tube however a fuel line with a 90° bend with supplied along with the spring locking clips. I prefer the 90° metal bend coming out of the carburetor as that would allow replacement with a straight gas line and not require a special purchase line that has a 90° bend. This carburetor also did not include the plastic limiter on the adjustment port screw like the OEM. That too was okay with me as I wanted to go to the limit both ways to see if that efected the searching engine. As far as this surge this screw could be removed completely in the engine still continue to surge. So for me replacement of the OEM carburetor was an unnecessary expense not to mention time and effort. However the engine fired up immediately like it did before so I will leave this carburetor in place because the cost is not worth reinstalling the OEM. My next fix attempt is to replace the fuel lines from the gas tank to the carburetor. It is possible problem it is not receiving adequate fuel consistently. These tractors also have a fuel pump, but that appears to be working properly. The more that I fool with this tractor the more I realize it could use a number of design changes that were better thought out. If you need a carburetor this one appears to work and the price is certainly reasonable coming from Amazon.STORY CONTINUES:I have now replaced the fuel lines and the fuel pump with no change in the engine surging. The surging has got to be a fuel problem as I have checked the springs on the governor. I have replaced this carburetor with a new one and the engine now runs smooth, no surging no idle problems . This carburetor was defective out of the box and has caused me considerable time and money. Anyone with a John Deere Garden tractor trying to correct the apparent very common surging problem I would suggest you find a seller with a positive track record and stay away from this junk.
