Game changer for car entertainment, and solves Carplay issues!
First, the set up is extremely easy! You just plug it in, connect to Carplay, and boom, you're ready to go!The features are great, you can make your own customizable home screen which is amazing. You are given access to a bunch of apps that you can add onto Carplay as well! The super easy user interface just makes it so easy to use as well. The streaming feature is the best hands down. Sometimes I have to wait in my car, it makes it so passing time is so easy especially with the streaming feature. It's solid and I can watch an episode or even a movie if I need to. My family uses it more than me now as well! I have not experienced lagg or anything with it either which is great. I hear a lot of these have that issue and was glad to find out this a more powerful box! 10/10

Doesn't work on my car! Support doesn't help, waiting for update that never comes đŽâđ¨
I like the concept and it does work, just not on my car. I have called and emailed support over 20 times and have had the device for now exactly 6 months tomorrow and it doesn't work. Support told me a update would be out but that was 5 months ago and when I call I get the runaround. I just want a working device and the return is too late because they told me to wait and stupid me did.

Really appreciate the added versatility
Overall, as a consumer in today's digital age, I am a strong advocate for providing end-users with as much customization as possible within a UI experience. Unfortunately, many companies, including Apple, have not fully integrated these aspects into their products, though some progress is being made. As a result, I have always been frustrated by the inability to truly customize and structure the CarPlay interface to my preferences and the fact that not all apps are available within the CarPlay ecosystem, even when the vehicle is off.Enter the Magic Box 2.0! While this device is not meant to replace the CarPlay system but rather to supplement it, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience over the past few days. It offers a higher level of customization without requiring me to tamper with (i.e., hack, jailbreak, etc.) these high-traffic devices, which could potentially render them useless. Overall, I find the experience to be user-friendly, especially with the help of provided YouTube videos for tips, tricks, or settings (accessible via the QR code or by searching for their channel).I want to note a few details that I didn't initially catch, which might be frustrating for some users. However, I don't believe these issues significantly alter the overall experience or functionality of the device. I'll list them below as suggestions for the developers and for general awareness. When connecting to the device via WiFi, some details are not initially intuitive or similar to the traditional CarPlay experience:A) If you're listening to something (e.g., the YouTube setup videos) and your car is connected via WiFi, the Magic Box does not automatically sync/direct you to the app in question.B) Because of the above, to continue listening on your phone, you'll need to go to the Bluetooth (BT) Cast app via the Box interface to hear the audio, as it doesn't generally play through the car's speakers by default (unless I missed a setting/feature).C) To bring all of the above together, it's best to think of the Box like a Chromecast dongle, where the WiFi is piggybacked off your phone/car hotspot, and the traditional CarPlay screen acts as an iPad or tablet (of sorts), directing the Box to display what you want. This is especially evident as the apps on the Box don't utilize the information from your phone, so you'll need to sign-in to your applicable accounts. Finally, to the developers, I would love the ability to hook the Box up to a computer/screen to play with the setup, log into accounts, and address other technical details without having to sit in the car with it running or dealing with the natural weather elements, haha! This isn't a huge issue, but it would be a nice interface feature to have.

Save your money!
Do not buy this, it is an absolute waste of moneyâŚ.. 1 of many examples, it comes pre downloaded with Disney plus, but you canât use Disney plus, because it is ânot compatible with the device anymoreâ. 2, you canât screen mirror Netflix, because Netflix doesnât allow mirroring, so you have to use the app thatâs on the device, which makes you have to hot spot your phone, which brings me to another issue. 3, you can not hot spot (use the magic box to watch movies/ apps) and use the wireless car play at the same timeâŚ. Thatâs just 3 of many issues, I didn't even mention how slow the app respondsâŚ.. save your money, just buy an iPad mount.

Great for entertainment
Great for what I purchased it for, viewing movies and shows in the car. The CarPlay is a little difficult to use with Bluetooth calls. But other than that, awesome product.

Not Worth The Money
Not as advertised. I had to purchase 2 units because I thought the first unit was just defective. Disney Plus and Hulu do not work. It's says Disney Plus requires an update to work. When you go to update, it shows the "open" icon. Other times it says Disney plus will not work with this device. Hulu keeps saying login is incorrect even though the correct login was entered. Also, the "cast" feature from your phone doesn't work either as it states the device software in the magic box is too old. Finally, the GPS for the expanded speedometer is grossly uncalibeated, showing over 90mph when i was going 60mph. Was on a 5 hour drive and my passenger spent most of the trip trying to get these features to work. Simply not worth the effort or the money.

Works as advertised!
May 3, 2024I just bought a 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier and I was worried this product would not work. I had just purchased another product that worked great in my 2018 Tahoe but didnât work in the new one. The Magic Box 2.0 works as advertised in the 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier. I wanted the option to watch streaming apps while waiting for my Queen or princesses at different appointments or events. The Magic Box 2.0 worked as advertised! It was easy to install, connected very easily and quickly when you follow instructions. I thought it was a bit pricey at first but when you realize what youâre getting itâs all worth it. Music streaming is as great as it ever was.June 8, 2024Guess what I discovered today? The Magic Box 2.0 will also stream DirecTV too if you are a subscriber!

Pain in the ass to connect to phone and manage between CarPlay.
Difficult to connect to phone. Definitely don't plug in your phone prior to plugging in MagicBox and don't try to do it while flying down the road. Need to refresh phone hotspot while connecting. But, once connected, it functions as advertised. Clear picture, and sound.
