Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM, Black (212955) for Nikon

I am using this on a Canon 80D and find that auto focus on close subjects is amazing and the clarity blows away any other lens I own. For subjects further away (landscapes), auto focus is off and manual focus needs to be done. There is little contrast in the images when using this lens so post processing is needed to add blacks and saturation. Over all a fantastic lens and worth the money!

This lens was purchased Dec. of 2020. I wanted to use it on several shoots before making the review. This is my first Sigma lens, and so far, it's preforming great for my business. Shooting Real Estate gets you in to tight spots, the 14mm wide gets me what I need. Moving up to the 24mm end, I can get more specific features of a house. Color renditions are on par with any Canon lens I have, or better! Auto focus works good, just need find a focal point the camera can detect in low light. But the lens works great on auto focus. Focusing on wide angle lenses is not as critical as other focal lengths, unless your pixel peeping, most of the frame will be in focus. Two draw backs that I have notice: First is no IS. All my shots are on a tripod, so no big deal, but if your into landscapes or astrophotography, stabilization in a BIG plus! Second, is vertical distortion. Typical with wide angle lenses. Correctable in post processing. I will be purchasing more Sigma lenses in the future.

I have definitely grown to love sigma products. Their stuff is top notch… Fantastic build quality, super sharp, and integrates well on my canon EOS R5.

I had really high hopes for this lens. Unfortunately, it's not good in low-ish light whatsoever. Photographing concerts with flashing lights, lower overall light, no flash allowed in a time frame of three songs gives me limited options when being right up against the stage. The autofocus is absolutely terrible. It struggles to even find the object a few feet away to focus on. The movement on stage is so erratic (rock/metal bands) so manual focusing doesn't give me the most potential to grab jump shots etc. The lens locks easily and focuses ONLY on the background, blurring the main subjects of the photos at least 75% of the time. Half pressing to focus from my view seemed okay, until I saw the final shots and everything is grossly out of focus. I tried this outside in broad daylight and it was fine, but that's not what I got it for. I wasn't shooting in the dark either. My Canon f/2.8 24-70 is insanely better when it comes to autofocusing, exceeding this by far. I have rented sigma lenses (for outdoor shoots) in the past so I was excited to add this one for wide angle shots and was happy to grab it being 2.8. I don't know what else to say other than I am so unbelievably disappointed with the functioning of this thing in light that isn't mostly bright. I wanted to love it. I wanted the range. Sadly I will eventually have to settle with the fixed Canon wide angle lens I had previously tried out despite not having a little extra zoom. I am so disappointed, and now broke from dropping $1200 on something that can't even focus well in half-lit spaces.

I love this ,and it's perfect for Nature photography.

Purchased this specifically for use with the Fuji GFX 100s for astrophotography. Happy to report that it works quite well for that purpose. Below 18 mm has significant vignetting and it is not usable, but it does render clear sharp images without coma between 18-24 mm. It does work well also for general purposes wide angle photography in the 18-24 mm range with the GFX 100s

As a long time owner of both the Canon 14mm L II and the 16-35mm f4L IS lenses I am blown away by this lens. This Sigma lens puts Canon to shame. On the 45mp Canon R5 the quality difference is stunning. The Canon 14mm L is an older design with terrible chromatic aberrations, especially in the corners. This Sigma 14-24 ART also easily surpasses the 16-35 f4L IS in the extreme corners and edges at the wide end. This lens is a bargain for the quality you get. Yes, it's relatively big and heavy, but it is worth it for the results you get from it in ultrawide landscape photos.

I upgraded from a 14mm Rokinon manual lens. That lens was surprisingly good, but not what I wanted for a trip to Chile.This lens is amazing. I was able to get great landscape and Milky Way photos, as well as creative close ups. The focusing is quick and accurate. The lens build is amazing (as are all Sigma art lenses). The zoom is smooth.But best of all, the images pop. They are highly detailed with accurate colors and little distortion. Good contrast, which is one thing my previous super wide lacked. I would say these images are sharper than some Canon L lenses that I have used.The only thing I don’t like is how loose the pull over lens hood is. While hiking, it falls off a lot. To the point that it went in the backpack and thus wasn’t protecting the lens as the camera was over my shoulder.

Das Gewicht ist natürlich mit über einem Kilo schon ein Thema, ich nehme es bei der Bildwualität gern in Kauf!Die Frontlinse ist gewölbt, darum sind keine Schraubfiltersysteme verwendbar... für mich der einzige Nachteil.Die Gegenlichtblende ist fest verbaut.Im Lieferumfang ist ein Transportköcher und ein Schutzdeckel enthalten.Doch viel wichtiger ist die Qualität:Wie eingangs schon erwähnt ist die Schärfe einfach Gigantisch! Auch bei Offenblende ist das Objektiv bis in die Ecken sehr scharf.Schließt man die Blende auf etwa 5,6 so erreicht es meiner Meinung nach die maximale Schärfe.Dies ist jedoch auch etwas Brennweitenabhängig, sowie eine leichte Vignette, diese lässt sich aber durch einen klick mit Lightroom in den Objektivprofilkorrekturen entfernen.Bei Blende 22 muss man wieder etwas an Schärfe einbußen, dafür bekommt man Kristallklare Blendensterne mit sehr wenig Flares :)Neben der Schärfe ist der Autofokus für mich relevant:Dieser trifft an der Z6 mit Adapter IMMER! und arbeitet wirklich unglaublich schnell!Dies ist natürlich Kameraabhängig, aber wie gesagt, bei mir wirklich Perfekt :)Der Zoombereich ist sehr angenehm und ergänzt mein 24-70 sehr gut....Bei 14mm sieht man, wie bei Weitwinkel üblich einen leichten Fischaugeneffekt im Randbereich... dies ist jedoch im Vergleich zu anderen Objektiven alles im Rahmen und liegt an der Physik :)Was mich absolut begeistert: KEINE CHROMATISCHEN ABBERATIONEN!Bis vor kurzem habe ich ein Sigma 10-20 f3,5 genutzt und mich immer wieder über Farbränder geärgert! Dieser iÄrger st nun vergessen!Egal wie, bei welchem Licht, wie aggressiv nachbearbeitet: es gibt einfach keine Farbsäume! Dies habe ich bisher in der Form noch nicht erlebt, wirklich Klasse!Die Blende von 2,8 ist super! Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, als ich wenige Tage nach erhalt des Objektives die Möglichkeit hatte die Milchstraße zu fotograieren... dies ging erstaunlich gut, trotz schlechter Lichtbedingungen!Ich fasse kurz zusammen:Pro:- Schärfe!- Autofokus- keine CA's- Offenblende 2,8 und dort bereits sehr scharf!- VerarbeitungContra:- Gewicht- keine SchraubfilterPS: Ich verwende das Objektiv mit dem Adapter an einer Nikon Z6 und die funktioniert einwandfrei!Was ist mein persönliches Fazit?Das Objektiv ist für mich wirlich die beste Wahl gewesen. Man bekommt für zugegeben gutes Geld aber auch viel geboten!Ich freue mich jedes mal wieder mit dieser Linse auf die Jagd zu gehen und Städte unsicher zu machen.Bald gibt es auch wieder die Milchstraße zu sehen, da beigefügte Bild wurde anfang April aufgenommen... der erste und bisher einzige Zeitpunkt wo man die Milchstraße dieses Jahr gut ablichten konnte.

Das Sigma 14-24mm f2,8 für Nikon ist wirklich ein Mega Starkes Objektiv.Ok, es ist kein Leichtgewicht was man beachten muss, aber es liefert dafür hervorragende Bilder.Das 14-24mm f2,8 von Nikon war mir einfach zu Teuer, und da bot sich nach reichlich Recherche das Teil von Sigma an.Für Filter benötigt man allerdings recht teure 150 er Filter mit Halterungen, die alle recht Sperrig sind. Das ist ein kleiner Wehrmutstropfen.Ansonsten würde ich jederzeit wieder das Sigma Objektiv kaufen.

Grosso, pesante, senza stabilizzazione e impossibilità di usare filtri a vite.In molti hanno scritto cose del genere tra i "contro" di questo 14-24 f2.8, ma sono cose assolutamente normali per uno zoom ultra-grandangolare FF.Inizialmente optai per il Sigma 12-24 f4 (uscito un paio d'anni prima), attratto dall'angolo più ampio e tenuto per qualche mese, ed era eccezionale in resistenza al Flare, aberrazione cromatica, messa a fuoco, qualità costruttiva, definizione al centro, ma era soggetto ad una distorsione molto evidente, soprattutto a basse aperture, dove il punto di messa a fuoco doveva essere sapientemente ponderato e addirittura in alcuni casi neanche bastava (parlo di paesaggistica e interni, a mano), cosa che non sembrava così evidente dalle recensioni lette in rete.In questo il 14-24 è decisamente superiore, il livello di distorsione è sorprendentemente basso anche a tutta apertura e comunque l'obiettivo porta con se tutte le qualità del 12-24, apparte una: la resistenza al Flare che purtroppo è solo buono, non eccezionale (in relazione al prezzo).In 2 occasioni di foto al tramonto col sole completamente libero da nuvole o foschia, le lenti hanno creato un Flare abbastanza evidente, non così difficile da eliminare ma fastidioso.Unica pecca che dovrò sopportare ma che viene totalmente eclissata da tutto il resto.Per il prezzo che ha, è una scelta assolutamente azzeccata.

Objectif lumineux avec un très bon piqué, pas de distorsions. Je recommande après 2 ans d'utilisation.
