OtterBox Defender Case for Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, Shockproof, Drop Proof, Ultra-Rugged, Protective Case, 5x Tested to Military Standard, Black

I always buy Otterbox Defender cases for my phones, as I know I can drop them from height if I'm working up a ladder or whatever, and the phone will survive.Unlike previous models that I've had where there is a separate chassis that the phone clips into before adding the rubberised outer case, this one dispenses with the inner casing. It was a bit harder to get on as you had to stretch the case around the phone, but once in place it's really solid and the phone is well protected.One caveat is that it doesn't include a screen protector, but there is a separate Otterbox screen protector available for total protection. Recommended.

As with my previous Otterbox covers this is the best level of protection you can get for your phone without fully encasing it. It's already saved me a broken phone twice. Don't think or buy twice. Just buy an Otterbox!

This case truly lives up to the rugged reputation of OtterBox. It feels substantial in my hand, like it could withstand anything I throw at it (and I have!). The raised edges are a great touch, offering that extra peace of mind for the screen and camera. The holster, while handy, took a bit of getting used to. However, it's definitely a plus when you need that extra convenience. The only downside is that it adds a bit of bulk to the phone, but I'll gladly take that for the protection it offers.

Years ago I used to waltz around without a case on my phone at all!I just wouldn’t contemplate it now, having lost and broken more phones and screens than the average person through general clumsiness and often through gesturing wildly and catching the phone on doorways or walls ..(we all have our flaws!).Turns out screen repairs are costly, and new phones are even more so, and since I like to think I learn from my mistakes, I now choose hardcore cases like this one from Otterbox’s Defender range.The case is rugged and heavy duty, it comes with a holster which can clip to your belt.My husband uses his holster all the time, but then he wears a belt all the time. Mostly he clips it in screen inwards to offer even more protection to the screen. He works in renovation so it’s perfect for him.For me the holster makes it too large to get it in my pocket which is a shame as I like the kickstand functionality.The case itself is awesome.Made from 50% recycled plastic, it offers excellent protection for people who are adventurous, active, outdoorsy or just plain accident prone like me.Raised edges and dust covers protect the screen, camera lenses, and the ports.Like any protective case it adds bulk but you can’t have a slim low profile case that’s drop proof.The Defender also prevents drops by having a nice grippy surface and keeping it safely in your hand to begin with.It’s compatible with wireless charging and doesn’t seem to suffer any problems with heat building up, and it doesn’t get in the way of the phone’s functionality.This Otterbox Defender case isn’t shouty it’s understated and has a simple classic look which I love.It offers outstanding protection, is easy to install and the price reflects the quality.If you’re in the market for a new case that offers exceptional protection I’d recommend this one.I hope you find my review helpful.

Extremely robust case that lives up to its name. I expected the case to be made to a high standard and I was not wrong- Can't recommend enough! I have used OtterBox cases for a number of years and can say that I have never been let down with one of their products. These cases are on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for! Highly recommend.

Because the reality is that over the time it happened for a couple of times to drop my phone and for the back of it to smash, I have decided that it should be the right time to get a very strong case and after some research I have seen this one which without any doubt it is even better than I have expected.I like the fact that it comes with a clip at the back which allows me to keep my phone attached to my belt(I have tried it, it is practical but I wouldn't necessarily say that it is the most comfortable option) and the case feels very solid.It requires a bit of strength to put it on my phone because the case is not that flexible but this is a good thing because it means that it is well made and it's going to protect my phone properly.So far I was lucky enough that only for one time it happened to drop the phone on the concrete and besides some minor scratches and scuffs which work inevitable, I didn't see anything on the phone or the case itself. It also has a good grip while holding it but just one thing that I'm not very happy with is the fact that at the back it has matte so first which is very easy to be scratched and unfortunately those marks cannot be removed so I'm not really sure how it's going to look in let's say six months from now.Overall this is a really great case that I enjoy using and it is a good choice for my need.

This new design of A55 (5G) case comes in minimal packaging (which I prefer), yet still maintains a premium presentation. It would make an impressive gift for any new A55 owner.It obviously has a unique profile but is also a premium Otter case, with perfect fit, good port and camera access, and is ‘5 x Tested to Military Standard’ (whatever that means).It is obviously bulky compared to the slimness of the phone itself, but most people will get used to it quickly. It gives increased heft but you get a lot of protection in return, and I think most people will be happy with the tradeoff.This isn’t a cheap design at £43, but I have seen the price on Otterbox cases drop by 30% regularly, so be patient and you might get a bargain.In summary, if you want the best in stylish military-level protection for your shiny new A55 then this should be at the top of your list. Just maybe wait a bit and see if the price drops.I rate this five stars, or if price is a major concern, four.
